Majority of traffic from Craigslist?

I've never tried getting traffic from Craigslist, but a friend of mine has told me that if Google notices your site getting a big amount of your traffic from Craigslist, Google will ban your adsense account, because of spam... can anyone confirm if this is true?

I know Craigslist is a great way to get traffic, I just don't want to take a chance if I can get banned over it.

You may get lower eCPM if your traffic is bad but it will ban your adsense account unless the traffic is coming from single IP address

Would it look to people as if you are spamming Craigslist? It's not meant as a traffic source, it's meant as a classified ad system. If people think you are spamming Craigslist they may report that to Google, and that can get your account disabled.

How is Google going to know if your spamming CL? I mean do you think some from Google combs through CL looking for spaming websites to ban? Dought it.

Well I'm sure they can tell somehow if you're getting a majority of views from one site..especially if it's CL, they'll know you're spamming it..right?

Also, makenmoney, how many 'ads' do you post a day, just wondering!

Google will Ban you from any traffic which comes from methods that violate the site owners TOS.

Posting links to your site from Craigslist is a violation of Craigslist's Terms of Service. It's very clear.

So Good luck with that. It's not like other people have not already through of this... years ago.

There are a lot of Really Really Stupid people who think they can trick Adsense.

Gee Frankl how does a multi-billion dollar corporation with 100's of Ph.D's figure out my traffic is coming from Craigslist? Ever heard of something called IP, perhaps a MAC Address?

Everything you do online is tracked and recorded - everything.

I've definitely heard of people losing their adsense accounts for spammy methods of traffic generation. Better safe than sorry in my opinion...

That idea is wrong. Merely posting classifieds ads cannot get your account banned.

I can't believe how much bad info is on this dumb forum. If you push traffic from CL google can see your referer if you have adsense u idiots, unless you do a redirect or double meta refresh.

Also unless you are using a proxy server craigslist will ban your email account and IP address. Carigslist has so many flaggers that constant posting is required so unless your adsense clicks are $5 or more it is a very bad rate of return and also your income is posting dependant. Don’t post, don't get clicks, don't make any money.

People should look at making money on the web as a long term income source, so far better to spend your time building up search engine traffic than posting on craigslist for short term dollars.
