    What are all the reasons that an account might get limited for ? How does they discover problems with your account ?

    It will get limited if your account is new and you do a big transaction.
    Also they limit it some time when there is any chargeback.
    And sometime for your safety its limited.

    Well there are many reasons to get your PayPal limited but if you follow PayPal TOS then you don't need to worry about limitation. Few important things to be kept in mind are :-

    1.) Provide genuine information while opening PayPal account, so that even if it is limited you can get it unlimited by providing all the documents required by PayPal.

    2.) Try to avoid using unverified PayPal account. Verify PayPal account to lift limits and avoid any hassle while withdrawing money.

    3.) Verify your PayPal by credit card only so that if PayPal asks for statement you can provide that on time.

    4.) Don't open PayPal using proxy, this can certainly get your PayPal limited.

    If you read their TOS carefully you will discover that they can limit or suspend your account for whatever reason they feel like.

    Generally speaking, most limits are due to 'problematic or risky transactions' in paypal's eyes. For example, those that have a high chance of ending up in chargebacks, receiving funds for fake merchandise, receiving unusually large sums of money....etc

    The top reason is the paypal account is accessed via different country IP.
    PP have the system to check your registered country IP and other country IP.

    If you get limited for say logging in through proxy and fail to meet their requirements to unlock it for whatever reason (Yes if you follow their toc you won't. We all know that...) .
    What happens? They will hold your money for a period of time? How long? You loose your money altogether? (who gets this money...?)
