I hope your ready for the whole lot of stuff thats going to happen once you open up your network. I also advise you to stray away from doing this if you have little or no experience with internet marketing. I also recommend you go to the IAB website and read up on guidelines. Once you start seeing all the work that is involved ( and there is a lot ) you are going to wish you never got yourself into it. Unless you have tens, of thousand if not hundreds of thousands of dollars to waste on testing and developing your product alone. Trust me! I know I have been in planning and developing stage of my own network for almost half a year now, and I'm still barley scratching the surface. Be prepared to be slammed by fellow networks as they want like the new competition as well as lawsuits for invalid clicks and other fun stuff. I also advise you to go to a lawyer and have them to write up a contract for you and your publishers/advertisers. Also consider getting a LLC as this would protect you and only your company would be at risk, if you don't have it you are fully responsible for any and all actions that result from your service. Ensure that you have a solid filter for invalid clicks. Tracking by IP alone is the most dummiest if not most idiotic thing a person can do. I'm not going to tell you how to make your filter I'm telling you it better be able to do a lot of good work in filtering invalid or questionable clicks. My personal rule about filtering clicks is that if I have any slight thought or feeling that the click is invalid I want count it. I also allow advertisers to... ( wait a minute can't tell you that... don't want you to steal it ) But anyways best of luck and make sure that you seperate yourself from the rest of the crowd and scam sites.
