Google Wake The Hell Up...aka Matt Cutts Are You Alive?

Well after much thought I decided maybe we at DP can get Matt Cutts attention... or some other erstwhile Google employ to sit up and take notice of the wreckage they have done to so many websites.

The Google PageRank for most sites is completely screwed!!!

At times I think Google has grown so large and out of control by external forces... that they themselves have no idea on how to correct the issues confronting them.

A billion dollar corporation so busy rehashing SEO101 and making pretty videos of their mouthpiece.... yet the algorithim if farked beyond the point of no return...

Big Daddy should be renamed Big Dud!!!!!!!!

Google wake the hell up and fix something for once.......

Just once is all most ask.......just once Google get it right!!!!!!!

I just noticed Google is once again showing pages of my site that have been deleted 6 months ago.

Problem with getting Google to notice; according to them and Matt, there is nothing wrong, it's all the fault of webmasters.

If you hope to get anyone's attention, especially Matt Cutts, it may be wise to identify "wreckage."

Do you mean hundreds of thousands of pages going supplemental? If so, many went supplemental for good reason, i.e. same meta titles, descriptions.

As far as pagerank goes, it has very little meaning these days. Not to say your are one of the following, but, pagerank seems to be a term the beginning developers/webmasters/seos grab onto and exploit in hopes of sounding intelligent. It holds very little value in the overall scheme of things concerning rankings, internet marketing, a sites overall value, consumer appeal, etc.

We really should come clean with them, we have messed with them long enough, feeding Google all those ghost pages. :D

I think off topic links have been a no-no for a long time haven't they? I dropped my links pages last year (early) and haven't looked back since. I stick with linking to sites that are relevant to mine (such as if I mention HGTV in an article or whatever).

HEHEHEHE. As I said in another thread. Since GG said it'd be fixed in autumn sometime, I think someone should ask "which year?" :p

I personally think this part of the algo is a disgrace. They should KNOW without having to read just your meta tags whether your page is duplicate content or not. It's gotten to the point on some of my sites I've just removed the Descriptions altogether & it's certainly helped with Supplementals.....

To be brutally honest Yahoo has screwed up things quite decently on their own after dumping 'Panama' search platform till 2007 1st or 2nd quarter...

and MSN is screwing sites with its Live search platform

It is pretty sad all three majors have mucked themselves up .....especially given its soon to be christmas time in many parts of the world....

retailers should love this... I know the financial analysts consults I am doing are occuring more often than ever...seems the Wall St people are not a bunch of happy investors and trying to be sure they dont get caught blind sided..

I should write and thank Yahoo and by dropping the new platform my income went up very nicely lol........

    :D

hmmm well I link out from a "resources" page to about 5 to 10 mostly relevant sites as well as toss links from other main and child pages.....

but I do see what you are refering to on other sites and which as lorien said dropping links to unrelevant sites is a smart move to help increase PR probably and perhaps positioning but that would be low level changes.

I use the term and name my link pages as "resources".... as it was mentioned years ago that Google came to hate the term 'link or links" so I never make mention of them on my sites if I can avoid doing so...

but Ninetendo there is also much more wrong with Google than our websites having links pages.

    braap

I too find little to no value to PR... other than at times you need some to rank for high comp keywords, in fact I think the only thing PR says now is Google trusts a website somewhat.

My links page (named resources) of related sites doesn't hurt my google rankings at all.

When I posted the threadwatch article, MattCutts came along and posted a link to my links page and said 'Say no more, say no more.' like that was the only reason the site: results were screwed up on Google.com!!!!
