Using Pingomatic Correctly

    How exactly Pingomatic works? I see that you can send pings to some directories... Do you need to register your blog to all of those directories?

    I think you don't need reg to any ping service..

    just submit the ping URL on wp setting and it will works automatically..

    better dont overuse ping or it'll be marked as spam.. i used it only once a day

    You ping your website or blog first, then ping all the posts/pages. Ping them to all of the directories.

    The part which is confusing that I never registered my blog to any of those sites exept technorati. So if I never registered do I need to ping every post and it's gonna work? Or I need to register to every site which is in the pingomatic list?

    the thing is using ping omatic as a source of traffic are all bullshit, i run hundreds of wordpress blogs, there all automatically ping to pingomatic but then i never receive traffic from technorati or icerocket, just ignore them

    You don't need to register with any of the services. The ping basically lets the search engines know you posted something so they can come spider it. WP does it automatically when you make a new post but you can go to pingler.com or pingomatic.com and ping it yourself just in case. Don't overdo it though.
