I'm experiencing some indexing issues with my blog http://antivirustech.com/. The thing is - individual posts are not being included into Google index. When I type in a quoted phrase from my posts ("...") into Google search, I get nothing but the home page returned, NOT the post URL. Posts used to be indexed (quite slow - it's a relatively new site) but it's been over a month that I can't make it work. Please review my blog and tell me your opinions regarding the possible cause of this. Is it only because the site is a couple of months old? Thanks in advance!
There could be a ton of different reasons, but here are a few things to check and remember. Are you using the "all in one seo plugin" if you are sometimes if you change the title of the post it can take a few days before it shows up in google. Are you changing your posts after you've already published it. Are you changing your permalinks after you published post. Make sure your robots.txt is correct and you're not blocking the search engines from important content. It's a new blog so give a little more time, but another thing, you have no page rank yet either. Are your page title's and their keywords have a lot of competition? Are you building back links and promoting your blog posts? Is your theme and pages seo optimized? Then again, sometimes it just takes the search engines awhile to index your sub pages. I've even seen powerful blogs take a month or more to index one of their older posts. Just go over some of the things I mentioned above and then don't sweat it. Just keep adding great content, seo daily and link build. Your posts should start indexing or appearing in the serp's in no time. good luck!
Really instructive, so thanks a lot! Regarding me changing the posts after they got published - I hardly ever do it; Concerning permalinks modifications - NO, never did that with this blog; The Robots.txt thing is ok; I'm mostly inclined to believe the whole issue is because of the fact that the site is new and has no page rank even after the very recent PR update. I will look into some other issues you mentioned, too. Thanks again!
Additional details: If I search Google for 'site:[my URL]', I can see all of my posts displayed on the results, with the subpage URL and stuff. But the search for a quoted citation from those posts returns the homepage only. In other words, I seem to be getting dubious results. Any ideas why?
IMO Google indicates the single page as duplicate content of homepage. Try using excerpt or limit the words on homepage and archive pages.
I got another advice lately that removing the "News" section on the right-hand sidebar might help me out with this issue because doing so should eliminate double links to any of my sub-pages. So I have already removed that section, will be seeing if it helps any. Got any reasonable thoughts regarding this? Thanks
skincolor Could you please specify what exactly you mean saying 'single page to duplicate content'? Where is duplicate content on my site? What single page? Give some hints how to resolve this issue. Looking forward to your reply, Thanks!
