Both are different. for marketing and networking I would use twitter. But if you ask about quality, twitter is no match for facebook.
facebook is a true social network. No one wants to be marketed to on it. More and more people are understanding how to use twitter and not following marketing as well.
They are both the biggest boys on the block when it comes to social networking and marketing. No need to choose...use both. LinkedIn is 3rd, with FriendFeed right behind it. My recommendation is to never use more than 2 or 3 social networking tools at a time, so as not to spread yourself too thin. You can truly put some quality work into them that way. Also pick at least 2 niche networks or forums to participate in. When you have all those ducks in a row, you have a solid foundation going.
Twitter and Facebook are the best social networking sites. Both are good as far as my experience is concerned.
It is true that they are both completely different - you just need to choose which one works better for your site. Twitter seems to be the hot ticket right now, as it's really easy to target which niche you want and gain the properly targeted traffic with ease.
You can always just connect your twitter account to your facebook and linkedin. Then you have this: linkedin == resume twitter == article, product, press release, & blog promotion facebook == networking Then connect your twitter to your linkedin & facebook. This is how I do it- I'm even using json to feed my website with twitter.
Both of the sites i.e twitter and facebook work differently. First you have to see what your objective is. If you want to build a brand and increase the awareness about your brand , then facebook is the best bet. YOu can create a page for your business and post regular updates about new product launches and other information on the page. One the other hand twitter is more like communicating with your customer , one on one...although you can update about your new products and services here...but i prefer it more as customer engagement tool.
Both are not different as most say , they copy each others' success and grow , facebook and twitter has potential to fight long , i would say lifetime battle
Personal use, I much prefer facebook. For website promotion and fan pages, no reason not to have both. You can set them both up and link your Twitter account to your Facebook page so you really don't need to maintain two pages after setup.
Both sites are targeting different things. Twitter is like a mini-blog, compared to Facebook where you can connect to people. Twitter - small updates Facebook - Social network there's a lot of differences between these two sites yugo,
