I feel strange saying this, but I have Windows Vista running on my Dell Studio with 4GB of RAM, midrange video card and 2 500GB SATA HDD's running RAID 0 and this thing flies. I honestly don't even think I could get used to 7, granted they did fix up a lot but Vista isn't THAT bad of an OS. I have no shame running it and proudly saying I run Windows Vista, anyone else like this?
We are on the same boat. Although many people said a lots of bad thing about Vista but this OS is running fine on my laptop and I just love every moment I'm using it. This January 1st will be a complete 1 year I become a Vista user. For now, I'll stick with Vista as I don't see any big reason why I need to upgrade to Windows 7. - Dynashox -
Granted there are some differences between the 2, there's nothing life-changing about how I do my work on a day to day basis that would require 7. Vista has all of the things I need and then some to run my apps and programs and keep up with my marketing, no need to rush into 7 right away
I agree that for casual usage of internet, word processing, chat, etc. Vista or even XP itself is sufficient. It is for the 'coolness factor' that early adopters of windows 7 are touting the virtues of windows 7.
Yeah, I've been using Vista for about 2 years and I am very happy with it. It runs very smooth on my laptop. I am going to try 7 and I'll switch to it if I find better than Vista.
Mee too still sticking to vista maybe coz i dont want to buy windows 7 as its expensive.. but vista is pretty decent
Vista's release was horrible, but nowadays there's not that much of a difference between the two. Although 7 is going to get the bulk of attention down the road for upgrading new services and standards. I don't blame you at all for staying with Vista for the time being. Fully updated, it's a fairly good OS.
But they are nearly the same OS'es! Only diffrence is that 7 is what Vista was supposed to be and it's a great way for M$ to repair their budget a little by selling a little update at the price of normal product...
Well, I am not using Vista anymore. Just used it once. And now its only Windows 7 and XP. No place for Vista. - Mr.President -
The biggest difference to me is how the toolbar looks, how you either have just the icons to show when windows open or you have a small bar. I enjoy how vista had both the icon and the title of the window in the taskbar, as it made it so much easier to move between open windows.
Used vista for a year, win7 for a quarter - defiantly have to say that I preferred vista because it had deskbands - a feature that win7 dropped for no apparent reason. A couple niggles with a few win7 features. That said i'm not going back, and the increased boot speed is nice - not that I would say to OS itself is any faster.
Well how can you hate it, it behaves so smooth. Granted there are still some quirks, but most of them have been fixed and removed by now. So what's there to really complain about?
vista suck in everything , each day u use vista , it will get slower and much much more pain will be added to ur day win 7 is fast and used it for a while now and it didn't show any slowing or any kind of shit that vista was showing all the time
Vista has gotten better though. Microsoft has released patches and updates for 2 Service Packs since the original release of the OS. Plus I don't see any glitches or bugs that you're talking about on my Dell desktop, so if Vista runs fine on it why upgrade so soon?
Vista and 7 are almost the same OS..Vista SP2 is Windows NT 6.0, Windows 7 is Windows NT 6.1...this is liked to Windows 2000 being Windows NT 5.0 and Windows XP being Windows NT 5.1 Vista to 7 is a maintenance release..nothing more..it is not a compelling upgrade XP to 7 is an upgrade Vista to 7 is a maintenance release big difference.
I do have to agree that 7 can run games much smoother and faster than Vista could offer, unfortunately it was bloated in the way of graphics and intense video performance. However that doesn't mean it's a bad OS for marketing, which is mostly what I use my computers for. It's simple, similar to XP in some ways but has new features that help out for finding files faster and navigating the start menu quicker. There's definitely many benefits for running Vista on an internet marketing computer, and if you're running a nice enough video card you could absolutely use it as a gaming rig.
