Regarding yahoo directory submission

I've seen a lot of people on this forum talking about how you could get your site submitted to yahoo directory for about 100$ and you won't have to even have yearly, meaning it's a one time fee. It sounds truly amazing for someone with a low budget like me. Does anyone else know about this? If so, please tell me how I could do this.
    Thank you.

Paying $100 just to be put into Yahoo's Directory? Sounds to me like a rip, you could be gaining more high-quality backlinks to bring in more traffic just through blog commenting for free. However if you are set on submitting to Yahoo's Directory, a quick search on both Google or Yahoo! should yield good results.

Also as a side note I'm a big fan of Naruto, so I have to say you have some neat sites in your sig :) Keep working on the design and promotion of them and I'm sure you'll be making money in no time

Ascendancy, the question is not about if it's expensive or not, and $100 for yahoo directory is cheap.
To OP, I've some people offering Yahoo, Business and BOTW for less than $300, or $100 each.
Just like you I wonder how they do it as I'd be interested in Business.com for $100 but a bit skeptical, as it smells like scam.

    I'd say you're correct.

One way it is done is with info from someone else's credit card. The directory gets paid full price, the guy that pays the scammer gets a listing... THEN someone finds out their CC got hit for a purchase they didnt make, the directory loses the fee, the guy that paid the scammer loses his listing, and the scammer walks with the money. Been done before. Frequently the scammer uses a shill identity to tell everyone "it is perfectly safe, the guy is legit", and other shills to generate interest. Wouldnt be surprised if that's why the OP of this thread is gone, as his question leads to a scam that was shut down here.

Of course before the scam is discovered the scammer has probably gotten positive i-trader for a listing that didnt stick.

As usual, if it looks to good to be true & there's no verification the individual offering it is associated with the company... it's like buying a "Genuine Rolex" for $20 on the street corner.

But the problem is that 5 months after my submission for free listing on yahoo! directory, i was not listed and haven't received any reply from the directory administrators.

Should i prefer paying the $100 already. Is it worth a try?

See if you want quick PR then go for paid listing, else it is useless.

The "free listing" option is only for non-commercial sites as detailed on their submission page. If your site does not fit into that list of types that are allowed a free listing, you must submit via the paid route. They DO add sites on their own from the commercial realm at their discretion, but they do not add them thru their free queue. Read the directions. http://add.yahoo.com/fast/add?233480+Local .
It isn't $100, it is $299. They may offer a discount occasionally, but not $100. There have been a few members in here and other forums that offered it for a drastically reduced fee, and if you check carefully the IDs are members associated with scams and stolen credit cards. Pretty simple to do the math and figure out how that's gonna work out.

OP, if it's too good to be true, then it probably isn't. I'd steer well clear if I were you. Yahoo on its site says it's fee is $299 so if anyone else claims they can do it for less, except yahoo! itself is offering a discount, I'd be well skeptical.

I would not recommend. Secondly I don't think Yahoo is charging $100 instead of $299.

Yahoo directory Submission costs $300 and that too per year. They save your Credit card information. It is a never ending subscription until your credit card is closed or you intimate yahoo to stop your subscription well ahead in time.

They charge you with the "Then" cost during renewal. And there is no guarantee that your site will be listed when you apply. Also they can remove your Listing at any point of time. These all are from their TOC.
