Israel To Build 700 Apartments In East Jerusalem

Israel announced Monday it is building nearly 700 new apartments for Jews in east Jerusalem, where Palestinians hope to set up the capital of a future state. The U.S., Palestinians and the European Union condemned the plan, a fresh setback to American efforts to restart Mideast peace talks.

For Jews? Bit racist, no? If my local council decided to build 700 new council flats for "a select group of people" like "muslims" or "jews" there would be riots.

 

Another hit against any hope of a peaceful solution for the Middle East conflict, which does not surprise me because the so-called Israel has no interest in peace if it will also bring peace to Palestinians, they are only interesting in a peaceful solution that will bring peace for them only.

The problem with Israel is that they seem not to comprehend these five words: Separation of Church and State. If Israel wants to be taken seriously as an open country that is available to all cultures, like the US, then it really shouldn't even be recognizing special rights or privileges for any religious group. Everyone should be equal before the Law, for the State is greater than any of these man-made social divisions. This is why, originally, the US Congress couldn't even make any Laws for a special group or person. That's a Bill of Attainder, and it's never good. This news is a perfect testament of that. Sure, it'll make Israel seem more open to the Semites, but it'll also anger the Muslim population. The government doling out favors to some people and not the others will never serve the ideals of equality, much less equal opportunity.

In answer to your question: I don't care. Peace takes two sides to come to terms, and your side can't even get past comments supporting genocide of the Jews. The west bank has been occupied a long time awaiting a peaceful two state solution that appears to be moving farther and farther away. They should just call it Israel and pave it with condominiums. It beats the continued "negotiation" with people who would rather have you dead.
