This topic is mainly directed at the people who are preaching about blog commenting, it sucks, get over it; anyway moving on. This is a very, very simple way to build some back links, more or less. 1) Google the following line of code inurl:index.php "powered by vbulletin" Code (markup): 2) Click on a result 3) Click on a normal user's username to view their profile 4) If you cannot view their profile, then go back to step #2 5) Register on the forum 6) Edit your profile 7) Stick a couple of links in your sig 8) Go to the forums index 9) Scroll down to active users 10) Click on your username 11) Extract the URL (Your profile URL) 12) Ping this URL (pingoat.com etc) 13) Bookmark this URL (digg.com etc) 14) Rinse and repeat
You do not get relevant backlinks by doing that. All you get is low-quality backlinks. Not interested, but thanks anyway!
@Neon That's a spammy and not-so-smart way of getting some really low quality backlinks. You serious?? I believe your method is totally unreliable. I would rather place my link in the profile page of High PR news sites and ping it.
basically what you are doing is creating forum profiles on VB forums. this link building method is being utilized for a while but forum profile links are very low quality links. lot of the forum profiles are nofollow and the ones that are dofollow, you will not get the backlink unles your profile is indexed by search engines. even if you ping, not all pages will get indexed at the end. the amount of time you will spend, you will not get the benefit compared to that. if you have an established profile on a forum where you participate on a regular basis, then thats different but just a new profile with couple of links on them without any backlink to those profile pages, those newly created profiles will not have any importance to google to begin with so they will not pass any quality link juice to your site either.
As an owner of a number of forums, what you are proposing is despicable. I delete users and ban users on a daily basis for this sort of profile spam. I, like a number of other forum owners, have started reporting sites to Google via the spam report tool who are using this method of link building. Hopefully soon (if they have not already) Google will have a scalable method to detect sites that are link building this way and just ignore the links or (preferable) give them a penalty. Google already have a blog post warning against doing this, so assume they are working on it.
That's really on the edge of spamming. I prefer other boring but down-to-earth ways. Thanks for sharing anyway.
You realize how long it takes to register/confirm email to these sites manually? If you take the time to signup / register to a forum I suggest it follow these criteria: 1) Popular (real people use it) 2) In your Niche (if possible) 3) Moderated (separate the spammers from the legit promoters) Your forum profile with 10 posts on 10 quality forums is worth more than 1000 forum profiles on spammed forums that will become parked/redirected within 6 months. Besides, if all you are doing is creating profiles there are bots that do that, but the link value is pretty bad imo. Blog commenting on the other hand requires no registration. Usually they are no follow, but there are plenty do follow ones out there. The main obstacle of course being acceptance, and longevity of the comment. Everything has its place on the Internet Marketing Food Chain though..don't skip your vegetable serving and double up on the meat and think you're ok!
all you can call that is spam spam spam . once the moderators find that you are nor posting , they will ban you and you will have a negative effect on your backlinks, instead stay active in forums and maintain your back-links
Totally agree with previous posters, the idea is just spamming and believe me, there is enough spam on the internet nowadays.
it is a form of blackhat seo just using automated forum posters and prstorm, it is not a good way to get backlinks.
The same time you are wasting on this strategy, you can use to submit some good quality posts on related forums and get some valuable back links with a real discussion that may also bring direct hits from users who liked your posts and click on your signitur
I prefer quality backlinks. If I write about credit card debts, I want to make comments on blog post or articles on credit card debts to gain quality-backlinks. It's hard to find dofollow blogs, that's why I made both blogs dofollow.
