hi i have my ranger rover up for auction right now on ebay and once it sells i should be looking at anywhere from 30 to 35k payment into my paypal account. its a fairlly new account, less then a month old and i want to transfer the whole lump sum into my bank account. do i have a pretty high risk of getting it limited?

You are probably taking high risk with your money. At the same time, it is not necessary to worry too much, if you have all the documentation ready to be submitted to Paypal. Make sure you submit your documents asap when it is limited (that's sure to happen for a new account with this level of activity).

If you have genuine paypal account (account with real info) as well as you are able to provide documents related to that transaction then no need to worry at all.

BTW why don't you use Escrow for that ??

    DON.

I guess it could happen that it would be limited , but obviously if you have the proper documents then there is no reason to worry imo.

Well PayPal might raise their eyebrows for such a huge amount in new PayPal account. Better be ready with all the documents and proof of that transaction to send it to PayPal when ever needed. If your PayPal is genuine with all the legit info then you need not to worry about limitation.

    Regards

Go for direct bank transfer or use escrow for safe transaction.

I think as long as you have a verified premier/business paypal(You added cc to verify it). Then there is no need to worry...

hey thompson....there is really no need to worry,,just relax,,,you told it is auctioned in ebay right ?
That means no worry at all !
paypal will not and never limit your account, say why ?

first ebay will hold your payments..until and unless buyer receive your so called rand rover,, and submits a positive feedback...Don't think of withdrawing your amount to your bank as you can't do that coz payments will be holded by ebay...

Secondly, once the buyer gives you a brand new positive feedback,,your payment will be released...and as ebay and paypal will be tracking all your info...and as they know that this money in your paypal account is 100 % legal and buyer is already satisfied,,they will do nothing to you ....either you send money to 30 peoples at a time or withdraw it to your bank or even take some high risk....paypal will do nothing..coz they know its a legal money....and afterall its your money...you have full right....

In summary,,,any payments from ebay for which buyers have submitted positive feedback is all praised by paypal they never ever.. limit it...

    thanks

I think there will be some problems if you receive that amount to your account.
As usual, you probably will not ship your auto. Which means you don't have tracking information (inportant to Paypal).
I can see almost auto listing, seller only requires a small amount deposit which should be paid through Paypal. The remain amount will be all other way except Paypal.
So will you ship out your auto or your buyer will come to pick it up?
Paypal is really careful on any large transaction because they don't want to risk their money.

The limit means the limitation of the accessing on your account, not the limit of amount you can send or receive every month. If your account is limited access, you will have no way to send or withdraw your money. However, you can receive the money in some cases.

if anything they will limit your account and ask you to scan a recent bill of your home, water, cable, phone or something.. scan your id, bank statement scan documents about your car and proof that you actually own it. Your home address needs to be exact and everything needs to match. All bills and statements, id.. everything needs to match with the same address.

Sometimes I get calls from PayPal and they ask: what did you receive this money for? What do you do? So- just be honest with them and be ready..

That is a good possibility But I agree for a transaction like that why don't you use escrow or safefunds? But if you must use paypal you should call them and let them know ahead a time. So that when the money hits your account they don't see it as being fraudulent activity.
