Hi all, Well what an interesting night this has been. About an hour ago I heard a massive explosion that really did sound like a bomb. We all raced outside to see what it was and found our Honda CR-V's back windshield absolutely shattered, with the back door partially burnt. The car was full of smoke and glass. We called the police and they were here a few minutes later. The cops found cardboard remains around the driveway and told us that a large home made explosive had been used. Our house has been targetted many times (eggings and whatnot) but nothing as big as this. So with Mum's car out of action for the week, I think it's time we finally decided to say goodbye to Sydney's West. A large portion of our area's population is lebanese/assyrian and while they are generally nice people (and I don't want to cause a stir by saying this), their youth is what causes trouble. I think if they have nothing better to do than egging people houses and blowing cars up it's obvious where their future is heading. Currently I feel like we've been a victim of a mini-terrorist attack. I don't know what we did to deserve this. I'll try to get pics tomorrow.
That's terrible. Good thing no one got hurt though. Do you know if they were targetting one of your family members, or just blew up the car?
I'm sorry for this. You got covered by insurance right? You're lucky by the way that they didn't connect bomb triger with the car ignition. If they had done that, somebody would have gone when the car is ignited.
The police did mention it was odd that our car was specifically targetted, even though there were other cars on the side of the road that would've been an easier target for them. I don't see why they'd do something like this though, we don't have any enemies and no one is involved in anything dodgy.
that sucks! and then some. like everyone else has said though, at least no one was hurt. sounds like a bright future for those kids
