Well I currently have a very old Toshiba computer and NEED to get a new laptop ASAP. I am in between getting a 15 inch Macbook Pro or a 15 inch HP pc. This is the HP computer that I am looking at and for $800 it seems pretty good. HP Pavilion 15.6" Laptop featuring Intel Core 2 Duo T6600 (DV6-1358CA) - Black, 4GB DDR3, 500GB, 2.2ghz. What does everyone think about this one? The thing about a Mac is that I will be mostly using PC programs which I know I can run on a Mac, but I'm not sure if it makes sense to get a Mac when I'm pretty much ONLY using Pc programs... Thoughts please Thanks in advance!
I will suggest you to go for Macbook. Its a superb thing from Apple. Also there won't be any problem of virus in it. - Mr.President -
Right now, it is almost impossible to catch a virus on a Mac, but the whole world seems to run on Windows. Either Operating System runs Safari and the gaming abilities and battery life depend on how much you spend on the computer. Truly either of these types of computers do what you are looking for. Although Macs are known more for videos and photos and PC's are known more for writing and games.
Apple computers have much better build quality, they can also run windows now, I would spend the small extra amount to get a nicer built computer.
if you know the programs you're gonna use will run on the Macbook, you should get it then. It looks nicer too xD
If you rely exclusively on PC programs and are concerned about application compatibility in the future, you should go for a PC. Macs are functional and "easy on the eyes", but in a business environment they can be the source of all kinds of compatibility issues, from apps to network printers etc.
I love PCs but I would really love to own a Mac too. But if I have only one choice then I would go for HP PCs. Macs are expensive, that's the only problem.
I agree with those who are saying MacBook. I recently switched from PC to mac and seriously wished I had done so years ago. It's so refreshing when it comes to installing/uninstalling apps, not having to worry about spyware/viruses, and the sheer elegance of the operating system. Plus you can install Windows on it if you need anything that runs only on windows.
U can dual boot Windows and Snow Leopard on a MacBoook or MacBook Pro using Bootcamp. But its very tough or not possible to run Mac OS on Windows. MacBook and Pros comes with great battery life, and graphics. However the price of Mac based machines are really high. You can get a core i7 or core i5 processor based Windows machines for lesser price. So if your budget is tight and you need to get the best configuration for your money, get HP or any other Windows laptop.
Go for MacBook ....World class technology from the world class company......No one can beat MacBook and if you can afford than go for MacBook Air "World's Slimmest laptop".
