Hi community, I made a proxy website www.ffsurf.com from one week ago and I have about 300 UV / day. The problem is my CPC, it's very low! I only get about 0.01 or 0.02 $ per click Is it because the website is new that I have low CPC?? Or it's because that's a proxy website so it gives only service not a good contents (articles, text, images, ...). What do you think, how can I increase my adsense CPC??
Actually CTR does affect the CPC, and also the keywords. I think the homepage of proxy website can not give Google enough information to determine the AD content, therefore the CPC is low. Hoping I explained clearly. Ad clicked~~
Thank you for your suggestion idgnarn, My CTR is low too, here is an example of today visitors for one ad block on home page : Print = 968 Clicks = 6 CTR = 0,62% eCPM = 0,13 $US revenue estimate = 0,12 $US What's the relation between CTR and CPC ?? About keywords, I tried to put a small description of the service 2 times in the page.. I think that make many keywords.
My first guess is that Adwords users looking to advertise using keywords likely to be found on the home page of a proxy site are going to be other proxy site owners who bid pennies because they're having the same problem you are. It's a proxy site, my guess is that people who are using proxy sites are also not letting Google do behavior targeted ads for them, meaning you're probably serving up content ads and not many behavioral ones. Another thing I notice is that you've got 728x15 link units by your URL box. In my experience those link units rarely pay more than $0.02 a click for already low-paying subject matter. What sort of custom channels do you have setup in Adsense ? Are those link units the things getting most of your clicks ? I'm betting they are.
Well said, I was thinking the same thing. Depending what the lowest bid for adwords is, I know Overture was 5 cents, if there is no competetion for the keywords on your site then yes, your looking at 1-2 cents per click or maybe even Zero for a click.
I think that's right, and it's why somehow I tried to take away the text from the content "proxy".. No, the most clickable is the ad in the middle 300x250. But I still get some cents from all the blocks. Doesn't matter if it's a block or links..
That was 5 days after I created the website. Actually I have more than 1500 UV / day, it's still growing up and the age of the website is less than 1 month. Lamer!
