My forums were a very active small community specific to pets/animals/rescue and daily life, etc. Anyway, there were a few trouble makers and some personality clashes on the forums. Someone threatened the life of another person on the forum (in graphic horrible detail), around the same time I was getting married and was diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder. Due to the level of stress I temporarily disabled the forum because I couldn't babysit everyone (and now I realize I should not have to!). Now the forum is up again for almost a year but people have not come back. I have a several members who would like me to keep it open, promising to post again if we regain activity. Many stopped posting only because nobody was on! Does anyone have any ideas of how I can bring traffic and new members to the forum? While to so many of you it may be easy to throw up a website like this, to me it was a lot of work. The cause is something I care about and I would hate to just throw it away. Ultimately I would like to bring it back to life, but I just can't figure out how. Would anyone who is knowledgable in this aspect of administration like to become my partner? I'll pay to keep the site up if someone is capable of making it popular and profitable? 50/50 on all $$$ above the cost of the site (which isn't too much). Please let me know if anyone has ideas to help me out. Thanks for your time!
I say keep it and try and get it going again. Clearly it is popular, with only a few people, at the moment, but it's still people. You have people sticky by your side. MAybe get this loyal members to become active, then send out emails to your other members to show there is activity on your forum. good luck mate!
Thanks Crutchy! I think I need someone who is an expert at making forums popular. I never made any money off the website, and if I did it would just be gravy. The important thing for me is education and providing a service for people. So if someone with the ability to bring in more traffic was able to also make it profitable, I would be more than willing to split all of the revenue. I know about pets just not so much about running a website, lol.
Is there a specific forum on Digital Point where I can put a request for someone who would like to become my partner?
