Yeah, but with Google Chrome developers now working on thousands of plugins, Mozilla will need to release something better. Whether it's certain unique features, or safer browsing. (They already do that ) Yugo,
Agree and they're working on the "better" part. I've said that in two or three years, everyone will be running Firefox or Chrome as their main browser. IE is falling further behind with their plans for IE9. Opera may surprise us. As much as I like the guys at Opera, it seems they're more concerned with mobile than desktop browsers. That said, they have a lot of new stuff coming up in their next release that looks great. I frequently forget about Safari. Safari is based on webkit, like Chrome. Perhaps cause it doesn't run on FreeBSD or Linux, but it, too, is a great browser, but, perhaps, too many people think of it as a browser on the Mac even though it runs on Windows, too. So I'll repeat what I already said, in two or three years, more people will be running Firefox or Chrome than any other browser.
You are a fanboy, blinded by the love you have for that 'bloatware' (FF). How some people never see "Firefox just crashed, this is so embarassing" On the other hand IE hardly crashes. But as I've already stated, you are a fanboy, so you'll never see the light.
You say that as I post this using Chrome. Anyone who thinks IE is a better browser doesn't know how the web works. When you are using any product which is known as the best, it's easy to be called a "fanboy" but not using the best makes you a what? By badmouthing FF, you must have an alternative and, from your other posts, it seems to be IE8, yet IE8 is proven to be the worst of all the current browsers. So what does that make you?
The main reason I (nobody has seemed to mention yet) is the extension. Firefox has thousands of free extension add-ons, from ebay, to weather, pagerank and alexa rank, download tools, and more. If you do SEO and work online the tools available in Firefox for free alone is the reason you should be using it. Check out SEO Quake, Search Status, and the many others available for free.
do you know how long IE is in action, of course they are still better in total, but they are dropping very fast
IE is used only because it comes pre-installed with any windows computer... and there is ignorant people in the world who don't know nothing about firefox and stays with IE.
Agreed IE8 is by far the worst browser I have ever seen. Nothing but problems at work, we rolled back. I'm trying to get rid of it period.
As I expected your childish replies won't stop. See how you are being a self proclaimed smarty pants by saying that anyone who thinks IE is a better browser doesn't know how the web works. For me IE8 is far better than the pile of crap build by those non-organised part-time coders of FF. I'm posting this in the Microsoft section of this forum which does makes sense. But you waving the flag of FF in Microsoft section of the forum doesn't actually make any sense.
Again, while supporting links are shown to you, your response it name calling with nothing to back it up. If you can find any document that says IE8 is technically superior to ANY other browser (that is, support for javascript, the DOM, XHTML, SVG, HTML5, CSS3, the current standards and practices), please post it. I offered that to Microsoft on this very board 3 times in the past with no response from them (or anyone else for that matter). You can't do it. It's impossible. You will fail.
To my sites IE still brings in the most traffic. Perhaps outside the USA Firefox is still number on in absolute percentages but if you add up all the versions of IE it still brings in more USA traffic. Here is a typical example. I talk the talk, and I walk the walk 1. Internet Explorer 2,837 66.80% 2. Firefox 789 18.58% 3. Safari 410 9.65% 4. Chrome 129 3.04% 5. Mozilla 41 0.97% 6. Opera 18 0.42% 7. Mozilla Compatible Agent 4 0.09% 8. BlackBerry 9630 3 0.07% 9. Netscape 3 0.07% 10. BlackBerry 9530 2 0.05% I DON'T CARE WHAT IS BETTER I ONLY CARE WHAT WORKS!
I also using firefox but there is problem in firefox so i quit it and uninstall from my pc for ever now i am using crome by google
You don't notice that your numbers reflect all the stats produced by companies and here's the significance: IE has lost 35% or more market share over the last 5 years.
I'll admit, ever since I switched from IE to Firefox, I've never regretted it. I'm glad MS is losing market share, gives them a kick in the pants to get themselves in gear.
