How do you optimize for MSN?

I know it sounds very simple questions to many of the webmasters.. but usually what happens.. after some time when your are on top in MSN.. it'll throw you away suddenly ( the reason i know is we dont give them fresh content)
can anyone list out tricks on MSN optimization i'll really appreciate it

In brief:

Keywords in Title
Keywords in H Tags
Anchor Text Links - preferably by the bucket load! (Sig links are acceptable and easiest to obtain)

This should see you ranking high.

 

That's it, and then just obtain the same backlinks you would as if you were optimising for Google. MSN will give you better results quicker

 

and how do you maintain your MSN rankings?? because it fluctuates alot..

 

Really, my rankings rarely fluctuate.

The only two times i've experienced any change was when:

1) I had an outage on my server which caused MSN to drop me for a couple of days.

2) When they had an algo change.

If you've got a load of links, you'll have a consistent rank.

It varies across sites, but generally most of my sites are static with new content added occassionally.

The keyword density varies, i don't bother writing to a set density, i just write the content for my visitors.

I find MSN easier to rank than google and Yahoo.

Good reply...I am not sure density has much weighting in the results any longer...think I will start a thread and see what others find.

 

Recently added RSS to 2 of my sites rankings in MSN have greatly improved. You may want to give that a try too.

Seo for yahoo,you ll get the results sooner and you ll know you are on right thrack.

 

I agree...I think this is because Google/Yahoo change their algo more often than MSN

 

MSN sucks. I can't figure out why I rank so poorly there. The only explanation that I could come up with is that MSN does not like me.

 

a lot of people does though, the age is not an important factor for MSN. For example, I could never a new site with the age of one year could rank well on Google

well, i have a couple of keywords ranking very poorly in MSN too. no one really knows why.
