i have done some of the suggestions above, and it really works. I didnt think it was worth the time , but i really didnt have any choice.
another vote for do follow blog commenting, if you can be bothered finding a related blog and bothered to write a decent comment you will be rewarded...patience patience
Actually, forum posting is not too effective. Google knows that we are just posting in a forum. Blog commenting is more effective than that, and that is still not too effective. At least with blog commenting, you get links from many different domains.
I completely agree what you say, but with this the most important factor is our on page optimization. I see that lots of sites are top on google with very few backlink, so might be their on page optimization is search engine friendly.
Your goal is to rank for keywords. Time and tested strategy is great content + Links = ranking. Only building links to a mediocre content will not win you ranking for long term. See established sites and you will know what I mean.
Well you should. Linkwheels are very effective in building links. Learn about linkwheels: What are LinkWheels and How Do I Build Them?
I think it is not so good and it is like making search engines fool, which is indeed making ourselves fool Search engines are quite smart and they can detect whats going on around. Yes, I would recommend blogging and blog commenting but in a good way so that your comments should get solid back links instead of spam ones. True! Yes, but you know sometimes it is not so fruitful because the links to those established sites are from their own portfolio or their partners. But, still there is a good chance or at least a direction to go.
What do you mean by "blog commenting" exactly? Do you just mean writing good comment on your blog so that you get backlinks?
Can you give an example of a site that has a good page rank with few backlinks? I seriously have never found such an animal and would be curious...
Do you mean commenting on a high PR site on your low PR site in the hopes that the high PR site will give you a backlink? Or are you saying paying a high PR site to let you do some commentary on their site with your own backlink?
Purchasing a links is probably worst method here, it is one way train, if you start doing that you can`t aford to avoid it otherwise you will loose your position. I practise it some time ago purchasing good pr4+ links, my backlinks growht as a hell, but when I cancel any of that high PR links, backlinks in Yahoo decerased as a hell too and my serps positions lower. When you purchasing links, your costs will be growing all the time because competitors don`t allow you get their positions easy, therefore you need to pay for new links all the time and for old ones too , that is a trap. Only free resources of links.
Yes, purchasing links isn't good. It not only costs you but also pose you for penalty by Google. All the way good is to have natural links which is going hard and hard. The free ways for getting links are turning almost near to SPAM. If you look at directory submission (except only few) all are link farms. If you look at Article directories (except well off) all are duplicate content with so many links in each articles and hundreds and thousands of links to a particular site, similar stories with other mediums too but not that much.
