    Hi.
I wish to know how google "see" if a page have adult content or not.

By words like xxx, porn, sex ?

But what will happen if I have a page non adult content related and i'll use for one article the phrase "Fuck you ....." for 2-3 times ?

I'm curious how google decide that, because i saw many pages wich are in my opinion adult content sites and they have a green PR and aren't banned.

Just because a site is an adult site, does not get it banned. Adult sites have PR and are allowed to rank.

Exactly. Google allows adult sites, they just don't allow them to be used with adsense. two seperate issues

Yes it is, Sammy. Sex is not for kids. Sex is for adults who have finished school and have a mortgage. :D

    @sitetutor

    LOL :D

    You caught me. :p

Now seriously, i wanted to know this because i want to publish on my site an article who have this phrase 2-3 times and i don't want to be included in google's content adult sites category.

And i've asked about sites with adult content because i've heard that there is some penalization if you make link exchange with this kind of sites.
I want to know if this is true or not.

What is Googles adult sites category? Are you talking about the directory?

There is no penalty for linking to or from adult sites, I notice DMOZ, Google and Yahoo seem to do quite a lot if it from their directories and it doesn't seem to harm them!

As stated earlier, he's asking about eligibility/violation of the TOS for AdSense. AdSense doesn't allow adult content.

I don't think he's asking about Adsense, if you look at the original post he's under the impression that adult sites are banned by Google altogether,

    You're right.

Well, in that case the answer is "No".

I think. Now the question confuses me.

You're right in the answer that you cannot place Adsense on any sites that contain 'Adult Content' though this is generally checked at the time of application. I have seen adult sites with adsense ads on that are adult in nature, and people seem to get away with this until the are manually reported.

As far as adult sites in the main Google index and directory, these are treated the same as any other sites. The only reason not to link to them would be because you wouldn't want to be associated with them on a personal level and/or your surfers to visit them. The idea that you get banned for linking to them is probably because of the number of banned sites and sites using black hat SEO is probably proportionately higher among sites of that type.

Nothing (much) wrong with adult sites :)

Although the google language filter, will sometimes filter surfers browsing.. but the pages won't be dropped.. only invisible to some, based on their google preferences

Why don't you just edit the articke a bit to avoid any complications, just in case F**K is a common way to do it and readers will know what it means.

    Thanks for answers. :)
I don't use adsense but i missunderstood that porn/xxx site have some penalities and there are if it's about AdSense but i thought that this kind of sites have penalities "by default" and i've asked here because i don't want to transform my site in an XXX one.

I think that i'll edit the article even there are no penalities.

Thanks again and sorry for english. :p

    That's okay, adi.

We're ALL pretty much sorry for the English... most of us feel pretty bad about the Irish, too... but not the Scots -- they had it coming... :D

The only bad thing about being seen by google as an adult site is, IMHO, that you will be out of SERP for people that have the adult filter ON. For what I know, google.ro has this filter ON for default so you could miss some visitors. So I will try to keep the site clean. But what if your potential visitors are searching also for those xxx words?

if the visitors are searching specifically for those words, you'll have a lot of work to do to rank in the SERPs.
The guys that run the big adult sites do tend to know what they're doing (often in white hat and black hat seo) - ranking above them would be a major achievement.
