    2) promote your alexa rankings on your website
    3) tell friends to install toolbar and bookmark your site
    4) constantly drive traffic
    5) use forums that have people who are users of alexa toolbar

    Don't use any tool bar, except Google's tool bar. If your computer is freezing a lot that is one of the reasons, you have too many tool bars installed.

    I usually just install the Alexa toolbar on any computer I use, and then browse around on my sites for a bit. This may or may not have a large affect on my ranking, but my Alexa has been climbing ever since

    Exactly. Alexa.com is useless and anyone who works hard to artificially improve their Alexa rank deserves to be shot.

    Do you think you can make more traffic to your site in that way? It seems like that you are promotion for Alexa, not your website. I suggest you spend more time on your site. That is more useful.
