Best Filehosts explained(RapidS, DepositF, Hotfile, Freakshare, Megaupload, etc.)

There are a lot of filehost out there. But only a few to take serious. They are:

    Rapidshare
    Deposit Files
    Megaupload
    Freakshare
    Uploading.com
    Hotfile, etc.

They're are at least three ways to get paid from them. A point system, referrals, & selling premium account. I've dealt with them all so I'll give you my experience.

Rapidshare is more well known than all of them. Their point system is not good enough to rely on to make money. But because they are the most well known trusted, downloaders will buy their accounts faster than from anyone else. They are very professional and have the best Technical support. They even have a telephone number you can call. This is the only one that feels like a real company.

Deposit Files has spread like wildfire in the past few years. They have the basic 1 unique per IP per day. This is really important to understand. A lot of people think you get paid money for a set amount of downloads. Not the truth. You only get credit for the first download, per user. That means that if one person downloads a thousand of your files today, it only counts as one download. DF has a bad reputation for their downloads not finishing. But with that being their main problem very few forums have banned them because of it(Like some filehost). But this really hurts your chances of getting people to buy accounts. They are also notorious for limiting their upload speed by sometimes 90%. Doesnt matter if you use the Browser or FTP. This is done to discourage massive uploaders from putting big files on their servers. More space means more money they have to spend. They will deny this and if you a ask them about it they will give you the run around. Customer service is fast but they can be deceptive at times.

Hotfile is fairly new on the scene, and has survived this year. They are allowed on just about any forum. They dont have the 1 unique per IP per day rules. They count every download, and have very high payout rates. This is why they are so popular. What sucks is they have a ranking system that basically forces you to sell a lot of accounts to get high pay rates.

Uploading.com is also new and barely survived this year. They jumped to popularity this year because they had high payrates. And then everyone started using them. Then forums started banning them left and right because they had extremely slow download speeds for free users. They kept telling people they were getting new servers buy it never happened. Plus they are well known for not paying people. So the uploaders were left banned from forums, and no money for all their work. They basically just grew to fast. Lesson learned? Don't jump to a new filehost just because they have the best rates. It's just bate to pull you in and then switch up the rates later. This is exactly what Hotfile did with their ranking system..

Megaupload is just about as popular as Rapidshare. They have the lowest waiting times, and fastest download speeds, for free downloaders. This is great except you have to get 100,000 points just to get a payout. And they are also notoriously known for not paying people. And if you have a problem they do not answer emails. Downloaders love Megaupload because of how fast they are, but uploaders have given up on them.

Freakshare is my last because they are a new filehost with high payout rates. Remember what I said about filehost like that? They do pay on time, and very fast(24hrs). I'll give them that. But they have about the same ranking system that Hotfile does. Right now they count downloads from every country, but that will stop because that's like giving away money. They also count 1 file per user every 250 min per IP. That's about five times better than the basic 1 per IP. So you should make five times the amount of money from downloads right? Wrong. Each user would have to be online 24 hours straight for you to make that much. But you could definitely make twice as much. Also they do not have FTP yet. What kind of filehost doesn't have FTP? This makes them look really cheap. They have Remote Upload, but only from Rapidshare. And this is what you have to use to uplaod a lot of files. But what kind of filehost requires you to have a Premium account with Rapidshare in order to upload to them? High rates but a cheap site, I dont like it.

There a lot of other file host out there. These are just the ones I've dealt with. Do your home work to see who has the best reputation, rates, pay, etc.. Good luck.

MU pays. I've been paid a total of $400 since I started in Oct. Haven't been too active lately either, but points are still added to my account :).
And they do answer on emails, and thousands of files are either remote uploaded or uploadedevery day, so you can't say that uploaders has given up on them.

Your right, not all uploaders have given up on them, but a lot have. That's why companies like Hotfile and Uploading keep popping up every three months or so. Megaupload gained a bad rep by not paying people, and this gave the rest of the hosting sites time to gain traction. Just do a google search and you will see exactly what is true. They had a serious problem at never paying people. If they got it together by now, then good for them. But it's too late now.

    Every filehost has its downsides...

For example Megaupload service is quite fair... even free members gets a very fast download speed... the only thing I would really complain about is that they delete files way to fast!!! it can take hours up to a day or just 1 week before they delete you're file... this way no one is gonna use their service anymore.

Also "report abuse" the contact form is too easy to fill... they need to remove it and make people contact them only via email adress... this way spammers won't just spam download links and report them :/

I disagree with you on Freakshare, I have made nearly 400 euros in my 2 months of using it and I always got paid on time. I can't make the same amount of money with other filehost service.

What is there to disagree with? I said they always pay on time and quickly. And I also said you can make double with Freakshare than other filehost. So what is there to disagree with? Please read it again, I think you misread it.

Yes Freakshare remote upload very very very slow. Not the upload speed, The queue. About 1 hour and then start the remote upload.

Yea Freakshare is very suspect. No FTP option. PLus they basically require you to have a Premium account with Rapidshare if you want to upload a lot of files. They have Newbie written all over them. My advice is to squeeze as much money as possible out of them before they go belly up. lol

The best answer is a combination of three to four of them together. You could go with Rapidshare by itself and make a good amount of money if you are patient. As I said Rapidshare is the most reliable, most professional, most trusted, and the most recognized out of them all. But uploaders deal with others because Rapidshare takes 4 to 6 weeks for a payout. It's a lot easier to go with someone that pays every week. But Rapidshare pays the most out of all them for premium accounts sold. They pay $3.00 US for each one sold. Plus people will buy from them faster than everyone else. I think I made $70 the first day they started their new referral point system.

Either method you use you are going to have to upload a lot of files. I would say no less than 20,000 to start. And eventually a 100,000 plus if you want to bring in at least $50 a day.

Switch to Freakshare, you won't have this problem.

I already make $600 in 7 weeks and they always pay me on time.

Dude please don't Spam my thread with all that Freakshare BS like you do everywhere else. New hosting site with Super High rates. Blah, Blah, Blah. We've seen this before and we all know its the bait and switch. They have every sign of a cheap bait and switch hosting site.

    1)Pop ups

    2)No FTP

3)It takes over four minutes for free users to download the first file and with limited speed.

This is why Uploading.com is banned in so many forums. This has been tried already and FS will start getting banned too.
