i have applied as a DMOZ editor as arabic site editor but i got rejected i have applied for sections with no editors and such sections didn't get edited for than a year or tow.... all i want to help the project especially i feel that some guys are control and misuse there authority as editors .........cuz i got many complains from other arabic site webmaster complain that the Arabic sections editors are not fair....... some sites get listed fast and other with good and valuable contents don't get listed at all some sections like that: http://www.dmoz.org/World/Arabic/أسرة/مائدة/ didn't get edited for 12 months now i have send a site 4 months ago ...... so i hope if ther's someone a charg at that DMOZ pay more attention at the arabic sections....... thanks
I doubt any meta speaks arabic, most non-english sections are wide open for abuse beacuse of few metas speaking language other then English (probably some French and German) and since it is impossible for metas to understand it I bet such applications get rejected automatically.
Wrong and you lose the bet. If you were right, we wouldn't have 39 editors within World/Arabic. I'm aware of two metas who have some Arabic and there might be more. The rest of us get by with online translation tools. Merry Christmas Ivan
I really hope that editors are not being rejected by people that can not speak/read the languages themselves. Things often get lost in the translation. How many are Meta?
all we hope here is that other languages sections are not open for abuse... and i think the arabic section is wide open for abuse cuz i know very nice and reputable arabic website didn't get listed and some bad quality websites get listed and some online commercial website get listed so fast like online gaming websites such as travian....
