Its an internet forum, and its public, so anyone can look at it. If we wanted our comments private we would opt not to post.

Also, if anything any of us said in an internet forum made any difference world leaders would be reading it daily. I doubt any of them bother. :D

The reality is he likely confused intranet in its plural form with internet. There is ONE internet, but many intranets.

While it was likely a typical Bushism that helped make folly of the president and kept failing shows and horrible comedians on Saturday Night Live in business for a few more years, the reality is, "internets" in its plural forum is not that out of the realm of possibility. All you need is one more internet to have internets: http://www.internet2.edu/

Or perhaps he was just terminally confused. Couldn't even find a door off a stage (on multiple occassions).

Come to think of it, he spent an awful lot of time talking and acting like he was...stoned? Hmmmm.

Wow, ok. Starts with Marijuana reform debate, moving now into Presidential Attack Mode.

    Let's straighten this thing out.

Our Presidents suffer as much bad press (if not more) as we do when we support social change that goes against the cultural viewpoints of millions over the course of many, many decades.

Back before 1940 this substance was MADE illegal by people who had something to gain from it being kept under. Those people, if they had been in their 20's at the time (just for arguments' sake) are now in their 90's.

The generation following those that chose to have marijuana made illegal are definitely now in their 50's and 60's and I think that with poster-senior-citizens like Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young as well as Willie Nelson and Cheech and Chong, there are a lot of influential people that want pot available on a regular basis.

Not to mention that Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston are big on the reefer. I can't imagine Johnny Depp not being attuned either...

These are folks that Barack Obama would put out the red carpet for - he's all about his little "social events" so I think if a celebrity SUPER-GROUP were to confront him about the idea, he'd stop believing that the millions of votes for "marijuana law reform" on his platform website back before he got elected (he ran a poll to see what was the pressing issue that people wanted addressed) are not all deadbeat stoners. (He didn't say that outright, but when questioned as to what he plans on doing about the issue due to it being #1 on the web polls, he stated something to the effect, 'that goes to show you what kind of audience we have online... <snicker, snicker>)

He's going to catch a LOT of flack for it if he does it - being the first black president and then legalizing weed would definitely be a double-strike in the history books for being the most liberal and "dangerous" President ever... of course that's why we have CHILDREN reading the text books - it keeps the debate fresh and "with it". Maybe they won't all hold him accountable. Maybe they'll realize it was just time to end marijuana as a crime.

for medical usage it can be very helpful, but using it because of lust is like an overdose of medicine and harmful.

I'd take that over spending over a trillion (with a T) dollars in just 10 short months in office any day!

Our marijuana policy is kind of like racial segregation before MLK, we all know it's wrong (most of us anyhow), it's just a matter of time before something happens to change it. Obama has taken a better stance on not intervening with state matters on the issue than Bush, but I doubt we'll get any real change anytime soon.

Dude, not to mention the whole "war budget thing" is entirely off topic, but again - check the numbers clickin away on your happy little "war cost counter".

That's 900 some odd BILLION. Now once it gets to a TRILLION, then it'll match Obama's deep pocket crusade.

    ;)

    Merry Christmas.

You're going to compare defending America and Freedom and those costs to that of an irresponsible crazed maniac spending money on things we do not need and do not want... 100 billion on fake climate change. 1 trillion on social spending that has gone no where, another trillion on a health care system we do not need...

Wow. Is pot already legal where you are?

LOL - I find it laughable that you claim my statement as a defense for that half-cracked, milano cookie lookin' wannabe. This man is so starstruck after being bitch-slapped with the Presidency that he has no concept of frugality or diplomacy (as the good, stout, beard-wearing whiteman knew it oh so many centuries...)

NOTE - Think of me what you will, I love black people and I live right outside of Philadelphia. If you need proof, I'll send you footage of my "hood"

My point here is that Obama just jumped into an entirely hostile environment that neither he, nor his people were really prepared. The good days of Presidents were those when the mass majority had been shaking like a leaf and all they could do was stand tall and spout BS as they knew it. Some stuck to the wall we call history, some didn't. Obama is doing a reeeeal good job of spending us past the point where our dollar is worth about the cost of 3 yen and he's doing an even better job of having "Merry Un-Birthday Parties" for all the foreign diplomats that Bush used to smile at for 5 minutes, clamor at for 4, and then exit from while asking his constituents what he said and who he was...

I think that you have me pegged in the wrong category. I'm not a supporter. I have and will be the antithesis of support for government in the USA until some major issues get ironed out. When we can judge ourselves based on the worst representation of our society and still be proud of what we have here, that's the point I'll return my favor to the States.

Right now I'm more in tune with Portugal. Who ever hears about Portugal?

    EXACTLY.

Arguing over spending between foreign waste and domestic waste is kind of silly to me. I guess if I had to prefer I would pick domestic waste because I don't see the point in blowing people up to keep people from getting blown up (which Obama has continued to do by the way). The point is we don't, nor ever did, have money for any of the recent (and past) wasteful spending sprees both administrations took part in.

What's funny, is if you cut out the pork of the bills (you know, where the senators get a cut) and cut out the government programs that collect dust and bills, then our budget would be surplus. Dude could spend a few trillion on healthcare if he wanted, because it wouldn't be putting us into the hole. We could run a war as well. But, the way they pass bills right now, amending things to get a couple mil thrown their way, is getting quite old. I really like the Vince Flyn book "Term Limits" you should read it.
