Links with h3 tags?

I am using post titles on my blogs for outbound links rather than linking to archived articles. Most blog templates and scripts use an h3 tag for post titles. I am a bit concerned using h tags for outbound links will have negative effects for my onsite SEO. Any opinions on this?

My guess is it might effect your SEO, depending on the words used in the h tags and the content of the page you link to.

Could you elaborate a bit more on this?
Are you linking the titles of your post to other third-party sites?

Yes, that's exactly what I am doing. I use the title of a post to link to an external site.

Example: Forex Blog Article. Actually, in this case it is even a h2 tag on the link/title.

hmm - I would not do that - Google and other SE's view the H tags on your page as titles - highly relevant to that page - Why would you do that anyway? Are you selling the links?

Yes to this, use best key words for your H tags then support the heck out of this topic with your page content. H tags and content work together to legitimize the page and make it more attractive to Google. I don't see the relevence of using your h tags as outbound links.

    Good luck

I am not doing this on purpose. It's just that most blog templates use h2 or h3 tags for their skins. I have no idea why they do this, but that appears to be business standard.
