Google wishes you a merry christmas!

Five minutes ago, I got an e-mail from Google. I thought it was some kind of scam, but it sure wasn't. It was a christmas greeting. Check it out over here.


Google will donate 20 million dollars to charity. This makes me love Google even more...

Did anybody else get that e-mail? I think it's great of Google to do something like this, and I hope that other big companies do just what they did.

 

I did not get such mail from google, well congrats that google wish you marry chrism ass.

 

I wonder why you didn't get that e-mail from Google. Are you using Google services, and what part of the world are you living in? I'm using everything from AdSense to Knol, and I live in Sweden.

 

I haven't received any such email but it sure is a nice gesture. I do notice though that Google image on display has alt text in local language now, thus for brazil folks it would be title="O Google deseja Boas Festas! and for english it is Happy Holidays from Google!

 

Yeah, it's the same thing for that e-mail. Try replacing the two letters "EN" to "SV" to get the e-mail I actually got. You could play around with that if you're bored and have all the time in the world.

 

I have received it too. I was expecting something like a receipt notice for a tech gadget but I think what Google is doing is much better.

I agree. Donating money to charities is a lot better than doing something else. I'm pretty sure the media will hear about this and make big headlines.

If you're using Google Servies like GMail or AdSense, I'm pretty sure the e-mail will arrive in your inbox later today. It seems that you live in another part of the world.

It truly is. I wish Yahoo! and other Search Engines also donated more money to charities.

 

Yeah, I got emails from Google today as well.
The Happy Holidays one was cool.
I liked this part the best... "Our gift to you is a gift to them."
Nice gesture.

I got that too on my email which I use for Adsense.
What seems to me is that they are letting us know what they achieve and what they are giving away in form of charity.

 

thats really good, a good thing to do, thing is google can do this easy because they have the money
