    Hi

So long as a tool such as Xenu is able to successfully spider your site then the search engine bots will be able to as well - so you only need to submit your domain.

If you drop links to your site via directories, forum signatures etc then the search engines will find you that way.

You'll find that most of us don't even submit our sites anymore - we put our new sites in our signatures here and within hours our sites are indexed by the major search engines. It really is as simple as that.

Your 30/40 hits a day may be appropriate for the market you are targetting - we can't all appeal to a wide audience.

Verifying a site with Google Webmaster Tools is really simple, you just have to upload a small html file... try again... and wait for their feedback. Don't worry too much about the broken links, sites change over time and pages come and go. Add to that other sites have spam links to sites for their own odd reasons so Google makes some really odd requests that are never going to work out.

If your website is optimized correctly Google should automatically pick it up. Especially if you build inbound links.

no there is no need. have you checked googles external keyword tool for daily demand for info on your subject? and where is your site in the search results? these will dictate visitor levels.

Well, i have checked for backlinks for your website and it seems to be okay, also last time Google bot crawled your website on 15 Dec 2009.. that mean it's getting crawled & indexed frequently...
Now for getting traffic you will have to concentrate more on site promotion and SEO ( onpage & offpage )
Speak on social bookmarking websites, other related forums etc... do some cumbersome directory submissions, add good title meta tags etc....

    All the Best !!!

Just submit your homepage url, then submit your site map to Google and you will be fine. If your Web site is a blog, it will be easier to get crawled / updated via ping servers.

A sitemap.xml is totally unnecessary unless:

    1) you have absolutely no backlinks from other pages indexed by the engines (i.e. it's brand new w/ no links),
    2) you have 100s of thousands or millions of URLs, or
    3) your site is so badly architected that it is not crawlable by the engines.

Other than those reasons, there is really no need to submit sitemaps for web sites.

And THIS is a perfect answer to the OP's question.
