SEO Goal for a new website? (Job search engine)

I have just started working on on a new website which is a job search engine. what should be my goal for the next 3, 6, 9 and 12 months for traffic? with the market being 100,000,000 searches annually? what strategy I should

 

try first of all targetting a geo area to start out with in JOB search engines because there are a lot of Professional sites you have to beat in this niche

 

I agree, this one would be a health jobs search engine for USA only

You should know where to begin as this is a huge competition niche.

I suggest you to start with onsite SEO checks first like:
- domain
- hosting
- website structure
- content SEO
- internal links structures
- robots, sitemaps, page size
- meta tags
- keyword density
- outbound links
- check for any penalty issues
- registration with google webmaster, analytics, adwords, etc.

Then you can start with off site SEO.
