Just wrote something that I thought might interest a few people on here. Decided to post it here rather than shamelessly promote my blog, so I had to spin it so there isnt any content duplication. Enjoy. A strong and thriving entrepreneur will incessantly study those who have been flourishing in their niche. And why wouldn’t they? You’re essentially looking at a unpaid draft to success, given naturally – that you can enforce an appropriate grade of initiative and critical reasoning to what you’re learning. But what about those outside your niche? The formula to success is sometimes present in the most implausible people and places. This is precisely why analysing the career of rap genius 50 Cent (otherwise referred to as Curtis Jackson), who was in fact a drug dealer at the age of 12 – can be passingly rewarding. Why? Because 50 Cent is a man who rose against all odds, and overwhelmed the greatest hardships in order to effectively establish what he ultimately dreamed. These are the qualities of a productive entrepreneur – working ambitions into reality. Among of the wealthiest performers of hip hop music, Curtis is nowadays valued close to $440 million (2008). 1. His work ethic is outstanding 50 Cent has got to have one of the most astounding work ethics I’ve perceived. In his semi-auto-biographical movie, he describes himself as perpetually being the initial one awake within his group during his cocaine-dealing days. He sharpened his attention on ceaselessly gaining money, rather than indulgence solely in a high flying lifestyle. And of course – his portfolio speaks for itself. From creating his own clothing line, to flavoured bottled water, to video games, to even engaging in a joint venture with Motsepe (a mining company), this man is plainly interested in everything. 2. He is ceaselessly innovating Let me initiate by enquiring how many other rappers have been involved in the launch of a game? Not very many. And this is why he brought home the bacon. Because he realized that galores of fans would pay for the power to in effect live his life. While getting into shootouts with insurgents – crashing hummers and moving military airplanes is seemingly improbable to be the everyday average for Curtis, the ability to make a connection beyond the lands of popular music with his fans has efficaciously torpedoed him into succeeding. And this drawsme to my next point. 3. He follows the cash Many individuals frequently attain a certain level of comfort in the limitless world of internet marketing, and consequently halt looking for ways to attain money. 50 Cent has a history of pursuing the cash – and it has ultimately driven him to success. For example – once 50 Cent made in the rap industry, he subsequently moved onto film. His profile as a rapper produced a feel of expectation and high expectations towards any project he was active in, and his power to meet these expectations once more led to success. Similarly, he moved into selling healthy bottled water (Vitamin Water) as a result of his exceedingly built shape. 4. He requires the best, from the best people When rapper ‘The Game’ would not follow with 50 Cent and his rap clique over a ‘beef’ with another entertainment group in early 2005 – he was later thrown out. Trueness is an utterly important quality which you should require from your workers, and of course – allegiance is commonly associated with the best. It is challenging to picture Curtis Jackson as a thriving rapper without the support of his rap group – G Unit – behind him. Why? Because they're the greatest. They understand what their listeners wish to listen to and they can subsequently give it to them. This is again demonstrated by 50 Cent committing Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley to oversee his investment portfolio. After all .. what use can a captain be when the crew is bad? 5. He never fails to bring attention to himself What good is being kick ass in your niche when nobody knows about it? Publicity is an essential for any business owner, but the way in which 50 Cent goes about reaching it is often interesting. "Rapper 50 Cent, real name Curtis Jackson, has said that he wants to turn Inglourious Basterds star Brad Pitt for a day, so that he can make passionate love to his wife actress Angelina Jolie." Source. "50 Cent also admitted that he gets drunk after two drinks because even though he’s buff, his alcohol tolerance is really low. Source." 50 cent arrested in NYC. Source. “If Kanye West sells more records than 50 Cent on September 11, I’ll no longer write music. I’ll write music and work with my other artists, but I won’t put out anymore solo albums.†Source "50 Cent pulled off a publicity stunt Monday (September 28) afternoon with reports of him being rushed to the hospital after listening to the new Fat Joe album, J.O.S.E. Part II... doctors say after performing a Cat Scan and EKG there seems to be some damage to his auditory cortex, which is the region of the brain that is responsible for processing sound." Source. All in all I’d genuinely encourage you to do a little bit of learning on 50 Cent, and his journey. Often the recipes behind succeeding are blatantly displayed on your television, and it can some times pay to pay attention to the smaller points.
50 Cent. and I must agree with you, many people think of him as some low life rapper influencing youngsters the wrong way when all he is doing is speaking the truth and building a name for himself. If everyone were little angles nobody would be rich.
To those who don't know, 50 Cent is a popular rap star who rose to fame as a result of his notourity. He went from being shot over an apparent gang fued, to becoming one of the highest paid rappers today.
Hmmm, I am not so sure if I like it all about 50 cents! I am pleased though to hear that he got out of drug dealing! It looks like he will do anything to get attention and money. That leaves any person empty inside in the end! Not a great way to live life!
Fantastic post. Seems sort of random but the way you wrote it, it really applies to people starting internet businesses and doing some Internet Marketing. Do you have a link to your blog? I would like to read your other articles!
That's absolutely true, but it does go to show that just about anybody can succeed when they place they adopt the correct state of mind. Thanks. You can find my blog at www.insaneprofits.com
haha, "follow the cash" sounds very crude way of putting it. I think if you write about the billionaires and use "follow the cash", they wont be very happy with it. A nicer term will be "business acumen".
Thats right, but to be a BIG drug dealer you also need to know something about business, a lot of competitors LOL
