Hey everyone, I had the most awesome idea for a website today well.. an hour ago.. but the thing is the domain name I need is taken and it doesnt even load to a website uh how I hate when people waste a domain name!! So godaddy was like hire a domain agent for 69 dollars plus commission... Is this a good idea, will it end up costing me hundreds of dollars/thousands or should I just wait until 2011 when it expires which I dont want to do! Is there any other way to get this domain name, I mean they are not even using it! Thanks for the help!

I've had NetSol and GoDaddy send me low-ball offers from their clients but I just ignore them. I cannot respond in any way without making an account with them and agreeing to a long TOS & contract. - so I don't bother to make a counter offer. I think you would be wasting $69 - all they do is send an email and wait for a response. Your best bet is to find another name. Don't count on the owner not renewing.

If u have one idea that doesn't means you should have the rights to that keyword domain.

hiring domain agent is a waste. best is to contact that domain owner and make some good offer.

thanks for the responses. While I understand I don't have any rights to anything, it just sucks when people purchase a domain name and don't use it whatsoever. Thanks for all the input though, I send them an email in the mean time I think I have found a decent replacement :D

I wouldn't use these people or anyone to try to acquire a domain for you. Check the whois and then contact the domain owner. Sounds like a waste of 60 plus commission and fees IMHO
