Competition is always good because it brings out the best in the competitors but, so far, many want competition with Google just because they're big, which is the wrong reason.

I feel bad for some people pleading Google as it is the only genuine way to earn money online for small websites and blogs. Had they had tough competition they would think twice about genuine people pleading.

The search results Google gives out are often unsatisfactory. Competition would drive Google to better their search results.

I wish Google would die personally. I think they are part of the New World Order... How do you like that?

I do but I don't think we need one - we need multiple competitors and right now that doesn't seem to exist for google. So they're able to branch out into other fields besides their own, and by other fields I mean every single one.

Google is more as a household name that many users are just getting used to whatever results does Google poops . Google competitor needs a very easy to type domain name and very good marketing. and i believe Google is laying on its ending days many big companies are trying to get theirs own search engine to beat Google. i wish them all the best

    Well, that would be good.
But even then most of the people will go for Google only. :)

I believe it's quickly becoming one. They're trying to buy up all sorts of websites!

Fiercely competitive market is good for both the company and the consumer alike. It keeps the company on its toes forcing them to perform at its best and thereby providing the market with the best of the product.

Google is by far way ahead of its competition and there is seriously a need for second/third placed company to take long stride and try to catch up with the leader, to make it run and innovate more faster! :)

A strong competition will benefit everyone. Near monopoly is not good at all, and it breeds arrogance. I really want Bing to succeed.

Microsoft is the only company with the money and web resources to be considered a reasonable competitor.

We most definitely need competition. Monopolies tend to lead to abuse but if we have options abuse becomes less frequent; though we need more than one alternative. THat I don't think will happen anytime soon. :(

They're not buying web sites at all. Perhaps you mean web service companies? That does not make anyone a monopoly.

Not always. Microsoft is a good example of a monopoly that did. Google is not a monopoly but a good example of a dominant company that has not.

To the contrary, Yahoo has double the market share of Microsoft.
