Maybe it's because I'm cheap, but I gave up on joomla. Wordpress has tons of free templates and plugins available. Not to mention there seems to be more blogs posts written just on customizing it to suit your needs. At first it was hard for me to get a site to not look like a blog, but with some patience and tinkering you can get it done. I'm a big fan of free open source software, and paying for the good plugins was a big turn off for me with joomla.
well, am a big fan of wp, but now interested in joomla.. i think each cms has their own strength and it depend on us on how to utilize it, good luck
with open source cms you always should be careful about the security of the site. Wordpress is lighter than joomla. Give drupal a try as well... these all are good and i think best depends upon your "requirement"
i think joomla currently is the best choice as CMS open source . You can get a ton of plugins there . But if you need something for long run , you should consider using Typo3 .
Joomla is the best CMS available. When I first use Joomla it gives a lot of trouble but now that I know how to get around with it - I am so glad that I use it.
Joomla and Wordpress are The Best CMS if you need simple site wordpress better if you need big portal Joomla.
I use both, but Joomla is my favorite one! I always find a way to make what I want, and for most of my websites a few free extensions is enough. If you want to try something else, I heard a lot of good about Drupal as well, I am curious about that one.
Wp still my first choice, and joomla for another use. Just give it try for anything you want. The Best CMS for someone else, not guarantee it will be the best one for you too.
The question was discussed innumerable times, they are both good and the choice depends on website purposes and features required and personal preferences.
Thats TOTALLY untrue. OS software is inherently by function of how OS operates, will be more secure than non-OS software. (This is for ESTABLISHED CMS, not fly-by over night products by small timers). I don't know how you can say that with open source cms' you should be careful about security. ---- Casestudy : The Whitehouse . gov uses Drupal. Which is OS. They are also bringing out legislation supporting OS softwares. If this isn't a move of endorsement..
Drupals TOTAL transparency of security fixes and bugs is by far better than any kind of security through obscurity. I don't intend to make a wrong assumption, but you obviously haven't worked on a large scale project. The fact that everything is transparent is a GREAT security measure to ensure that nothing leaks through the hatches. If someone else disagrees, please do say so.
