I wrote about 10 premium articles and would like to post them across all my related websites without rewriting. Obviously search engines do not know that all websites belong to me. So how bad duplicate content can it be? I see many blogs/websites which repost articles including resource box and doing pretty good in search engine rankings. Is duplicate content overrated?
Search Engines probably wont know, but you can be sure that the article directories will, and they will probably ban you quicker than you can fart! Use a spinning service for that if you are strapped for time, but yeah, you need to make each article unique otherwise their duplicate content filters will start ringing.
A few duplicate content probably does not matter. If all the content are duplicate, then that will cause problem with Google. The rest of the search engines dont really bother with duplicate content.
What exactly are you trying to accomplish by that? Even if Google didn't penalize you, I'm sure it would only really index one source for the keywords you are trying to get. I'll give you a great example. A few years back I wrote an article on "Jack Rudy" and titled it "Angst from Anahiem". (Jack is a famous tattoo artist). Anyway, I was really proud of this article and posted it in a few of my personal blogs and websites after posting it on the site I had written it for first. Do a search for those terms and they all come out in the front page, but only the site that I posted it to first
Duplication of content has only to do with search results. If all your posts are same, they wont appear on the results page, only 1 may however appear.
I think you should always use a spin tool like wordflood to generate a "new" article basing on the original one. It is no value if you only put several duplicated articles online though search engines might not punish this behavior.
I am talking about my original written content. Not sure why are you talking about article directories. Imagine this i have 5 closly related sites and took a lot of time to write series of quality articles now I want to put all of them on all 5 sites... I dont see why exactly this should be a problem?
First lets answer the question is duplicate content bad. Depends on what you are using it for. Lets talk about using it to provide good content for your readers. IMO in this instance dupe content is bad...readers dont want to read the same crap every time they land on a different page. Now what about using it to help get backlinks... Obviously it works or you would not have the various article submission services that have been around for quite some time. But wont Google disregard all the dupe articles. Great question...glad you asked. Check out these 2 paragraphs I pulled from one of the PLR articles I have. "When it comes to your website, extra attention should be paid to every minute detail to make sure it performs optimally to serve its purpose. Here are seven important rules of thumb to observe to make sure your website performs well. 1) Do not use splash pages Splash pages are the first pages you see when you arrive at a website. They normally have a very beautiful image with words like "welcome" or "click here to enter". In fact, they are just that -- pretty vases with no real purpose. Do not let your visitors have a reason to click on the "back" button! Give them the value of your site up front without the splash page." Code (markup): Do a phrase search for the first sentence in each of those paragraphs and you will notice 1000's of "INDEXED" pages with the exact same content on it. So what does that tells us...dupe content is a myth and you can get backlinks from many good article and web 2.0 sites. Before I go on "ALWAYS USE UNIQUE CONTENT ON YOUR OWN SITES" Question....are all from sites on the same IP (one hosting acct with addon domains) if so then its not difficult for Google or any of the other search engines to figure out it's all yours and they "may" not index the content. Second question....will the visitors to your five sites all be the same...will visitors to site one go to the other sites as well...if thats the case your bounce rate will suck and your search engine rankings will suffer. So what do I do.... We have many many blogs and sites. We also publish content to these sites on a regular basis. I've seen some comments on here about using various spinning techniques...we spin all of our content. Over the past couple of years we have tested and tweak our process so that we can create multiple articles from a single article. The trick is make it appear original to both the search engines and the readers. It takes more than swapping out a few words or phrases. You basically need to make the rewritten articles appear as different as possible. One final note....I don't if what your are trying to do will work or not. I have not seen your content or your sites. My suggestion is to test it and see what happens...the worse thing that can happen is that the content will not get indexed. If that is the case you will have learned what does not work and you'll be one step closer to figuring out what does. Best of luck to you. j
A guy who stole the content from my website still ranks above me in Search engine rankings. If you want to make the website user-friendly then do try using unique contents.
Hi, I agree with you, you can be banned by posting same content to different directories, better to try a little bit change in your content and use any tool to check the duplicate content
if your sites are on different c-class IP blocks, then you'll be fine to post dupe content on them, if they're not, you will be penalized. Check out seo-hosting.com
If you're so worried, try to spin them a little use sth like Power Article Rewriter - not exactly rewriting, like translating in few other languages with Google Translate and then back to English.
Duplicate content is very bad at Google, and the first bad result is a decline in your site's ranking for sites that put content first If you want to transfer the content of what is in the source as you had to do but to put the text within quotation marks because the quotation distinguishes Google and respects that
When it comes to ranking, not only Content duplicate issue involves as it is only one of 200+ points measured. You can try submitting same articles on all 10 sites of yours but duplicate content will not help in ranking. Duplicate content websites and blogs are just waiting to get penalized. I suggest you not to in in any content duplicate issues. Good luck!
My point is that i created a good content and it took a lot of time. Now i want to get exposure for that content by putting it on my sites... How can I achieve it without duplicate content?
I would study the issue more. Also you could slightly change all of them from each other and would not take much time and then they would not be the same. Changing the first and last sentences. maybe flipping some paragraphs around. Even just changing the first sentence in all of them would make them diff.
