When you say at once, do you mean as fast as you can submit them manually?

Or do you intend to use automatic submission?

Doing it manually it shouldn't be a problem, i suggest varying the titles that you use, and also the descriptions.

They probably wont all be approved at once, unless you submit to one of the poorly run networks of directories, which could be damaging.

You can do it and don't be afraid because directory won't accept your site at once. Some directories need time to approve your link.;)

Do it slowly, take time to monitor the effects on your website.

Slow better, but fast is ok too. You might see the website is delisted from google in a while. But you will get it back again. It is called google dance.

Also don't forget other search engines, don't bother with google alone ;)

It depends on the directories themselves and descriptions of your site.
The more unique and well-written descriptions - the better!

Damage from registration in the directories can be only in the case if it will be thousands of unworthy directory and anchors/description of your site will be the same.

Submitting a brand new site to 1000 directories. I think I do that around 2-3 times a week. Directories take so much time in approvals and search engines take even more time to index (reindex) their category pages that it's safe to do 1000 submissions in a couple of days. You can easily do 300 to 500 submissions a day manually.

Usually - no more than 700 submissions per day. Of course in condition that these directories are not rubbish.
