How much Backlinks do I need just to get good ranking?

How much Backlinks do I need just to get good ranking? It's a bit tough for a starter like me. Help

 

Well, it depends for what keywords you are going to work on and how popular those keywords already are. If you are referring to Page Rank, then you would need to get quite a lot of quality backlinks, but if you are referring to ranking in search engine results then it does not only depend on backlinks - it also depends on the relevance and popularity of your content, keyword density and many other things including.

 

according to me try targeting lower keywords first then go on to higher ranking keywords becuse if you start of with high ranking keywords you need a lot of backlink to make it to the top 20 list so try using less popular keyword if you manage to get even a 25 quality backlink you can easily reach the top

 

Does anyone know of any type of automated method to begin building backlinks; especially since I have so many different sites. It makes it a little difficult to build backlinks and keep growing my business.

 

I think it is not the matter of quantity but rather the quality. A link from a high-pr site whose content is related to yours is so much better than 10 irrelevant minor links.

 

depends on your competitors, look at them then beat them, though backlink alone maybe will not enough

before creating backlinks you should carefully optimize your website, including keywords which you have chosen and then start backlinking.
you should create at least 200 backlinks with anchor texts. This is very hard to say how much you need them, after good optimization SE can catch you instantly, after 1k backlinks you still can be out or SE results..

because your rank will drop if your backlink less than other site.

Good ranking is not just about back links though...I believe quality content in the site coupled with relevant "votes" (backlinks) for your site by other authority RELATED sites do matter a lot!

 

I think that all is important here. Backlinks, contents, PR. The way to best achieve your goal is to start from zero like everyone. If you want to climb fast, then you might fall even worse, than if you create your own path to success

 

There is no limit to link building, you must continue doing it. But if you want to get higher for some keyword, you might have to surpass your competitors backlinks. Link from a .edu, .gov holds more value than others.

THere isn't a specific amount of backlinks to get good rangkings, just get good quality backlinks provide good content, and you'll see your site get to top of the search engines.

You first need to realize that it is not about the number of backlinks as much as it is about the quality of backlinks that you have. The secret is this - you need more backlinks from sites in your market then the people you are competing against to get a good ranking

 

Check out which websites are existing in the first page of search result with your keyword. Fix the position your website want to stay. Find out back links information of the competitor by Yahoo explorer. How many back links do they have? How is quality of links? Which website do those links come from? That is the amount of Back links you should build to get that position. Remember : Do a little better than your competitor is enough to win. Search engines are smart enough to recognize the difference.
