search engine submission is useless try to add your blog in blogcatelog and feedburner, some time page has been index but google didn't show if your index pages were cached then home should be indexed anyway try this and wait few days

    Search Engine Submission is useless?

Honestly, I dont know where you get that information from. The longer that your site is in the list to crawl by Google, the more information that Google can collect about your site over a longer time frame. The only way that GOogle would find your site otherwise is if you were being linked to by another site that was being crawled by Google, and that is a chance that you shouldnt have to take. Google doesnt find you. You find Google. Before quoting unsubstanciated advice like that, I always recommend doing research, and that is something that I have done alot of.

Dont let anyone ever tell you or try to convince you that this is a useless tool.

OMG - again redthehat is giving bad advice on this forum and this time actually saying someone else is hahahahaha!!! Google WILL find your website without submission or any links so i suggest YOU think before quoting unsubstanciated advice hahaha! However it is still a good idea to submit a website sitemap using Google webmaster tools.

I would check that you do not have a robots.txt on your homepage which may be stopping Google index that page.

umm... did you even care to read my post?

Let me quote it for you.

Ok, now that I have that out of the way, lets go into a little spiel about how GoogleBot works. It follows links. Links are the road that Google Bot travels on. It sees a link and says "Oh wow, this site likes this site, now who likes this site? How powerful is this link?". If there are no links into your site, you wont be found, unless by chance someone else links to you. Would you like me to supply further documentation to emphasize that point, or are you only interested in trolling? I mean, I can if you want? Test it yourself. Set up a domain name, create a blank page, and wait for months and months to see if it is ever listed without your help or anyone elses. Either way, dont jump on me for "apparently" giving bad advice when you cant even read my post.

Here is another quote for you.

Even Google tell you, you don't need to submit your site.

    http://www.google.com/support/webmasters/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=34397
    Quote -
"you don't even need to submit your site to Google. Google is a fully automated search engine that uses software known as "spiders" to crawl the web on a regular basis and find sites to add to our index. In fact, the vast majority of sites listed in our results aren't manually submitted for inclusion, but found and added automatically when our spiders crawl the web."

They DO find you - that's what search engines exist for - they are called search engines because they search the web for links and data - http://www.google.co.uk/dictionary?aq=f&langpair=en|en&hl=en&q=search engine
(not, as is often assumed, because people use them to search for sites)

Though to answer the orginally poster's question - as it's a blog, you should ping the rss feed through a service such as pingomatic.

You can submit your site to
    1. major search engine as like google, yahoo, bing etc.
    2. blog directory
    3. social bookmarking

Usung pungler is definately a good way to notify without submission. In my point, I just aim to emphasize the benefit of submitting is all. I can see both sides of the argument here. Sure, it is not 100% necesary, but it is a good thing to do, and it allows the search engines to collect more information about your site sooner. I will add that I believe that this statement from Google about their spiders being automated, I believe this is a very misleading statement. As I mentioned before, GoogleBot travels on links, so if there are no links to your site, you just have to let the search engines know about your site. Ping it, tell someone about it, submit it to Google, none of it hurst. Just helps the process.

have you tried ping services? there's even a special mod for WordPress to list all your web pages in ping-servers so to better cache them in google

there is a massive amount of directories out there solely for blogs try them also submit your rss feed as suggested above,i built a blog 6 months ago and i have over 700 uniques a day on it just now through hardly any work on my part uniques is steadily climbing daily maybe not a mass amount of uniques by some standards but for virtually no work just doing whats needed and not wasting my time :)
    directory submission is useless ?
well that depends on what you know
so many "experts" on here all with a different opinion about seo it would be funny if it didnt harm so many people :)
