If I have a website and the content has been on there for over a year, and G has cached it... can I submit it to article directories and get some BL's ?

    Thanks

I guess that'll be risky to get penalized due to duplicate content.

Well I think submit your article to article sites is a method to do link bait. You need to make sure your article really has stuff and worth to read. add your links in the article when people reproduced it on other sites, they will bring you a lot of back links.

This has NOTHING to do with the post... your information is irrelevant. I ALREADY KNOW THEY PRODUCE BACK LINKS !

how would this effect me... as it was on my site LONG before I posted it on the directory...

with your assumption I can just go around and post my competitors articles on directories and get their site penalized.....

I'd be a bit weary of submitting my site content to article directories, because then my visitors have no real reason to visit my site. Perhaps you could "sacrafice" one or two articles if you have a LOT of other content to offer once they arrive.

That would be a duplicate content and your site might get penalized by G.

OK, now I get you. So you want to submit your articles to article sites just for back links. Well, I do not think it is a good idea.

Because: "I guess that'll be risky to get penalized due to duplicate content." DT is right.

It is not mean google will treat you as a spammer, just in case some other site's rank which contain the same article as yours, will be higher then your site.

You will create duplicate content and since quality directories have higher authority than your website google and other search engines might rank those articles higher than your website and thus instead of visiting your website people will visit article directory and get all the information.
