How to get 5000+ Twitter Followers??

Any tips?? What are some ways you get mass followers?

The only method I know is to follow people, and they'll most likely follow back..

Right now I am sitting at 1,500 followers, with me following 2,000 (the limit).

Tweet relevant things to your niche, and always be active. Set up scripts or use a Automated Tweeting service to help you get out your tweets all day to attract Tweeters at all times. A good rule of thumb is to "never miss anything."

 

The best tip was given by yourself. While you can use Twitter widgets and apps that'll do all the work for you, it is just not effective in the long run.

Honestly, you want to get Twitter followers like you would with a blog -- you want people who would be loyal, interested, and a better target audience.

As jester said, be as active as possible, and when you tweet, make them as useful for your followers as possible.

Thank you for the reply..any way to get around the 2,000 follow limit?? I want to follow more people so I can get more followers.

 

I'm not the best to give advices in this specific question, since I'm new to twitter, but, two things I would take in mind if I wanted to grow my list:

1) Follow people who follow others. I mean, if you decide to follow someone who has 5000 followers, but the guy/girl is actually following only 100 people, he is most likely going to not follow you or just ignore new followers.

2) Take care with auto programs or bots and take care with following a lot of people in a short period of time. I have seen a lot of people having their twitter accounts suspended for "suspicious activity" and I assume it has something to do with this, specially with new accounts.

1) Post several times a day, during the times when most people are online.
2) Post valuable link-bait style content such as "10 Amazing Things You Can Do With #GoogleWave"
3) Notice the #hashtag? Use them!
4) Find something of interest to post about the daily trending topics, they are trending because people are searching and posting a lot about it
5) Mention familiar names and faces in your posts such as @mashable, etc
6) Mention lesser known names, commenting and re-tweeting their content. Often you'll get a thank you mention with @yourname, which means people in their network could potentially follow you
7) Refer to #1 about 10 more times using a rinse, lather, repeat approach
8) Mix in some nice Twitpics - people love cool images, especially when they have linkbait style names like "Awesome Volcano vs Thunderstorm Pictures"

If you consistently do the above, you should be able to pick up 20-50 followers a day in addition to those you gain from the old-school follow/unfollow method.

Get used to doing the above, then work on automating it via autoblog to wordpress/ping.fm.

Oh, and if you want to get your account banned? Try using all the Twitter trains out there!

 

there was an ebook something about 3000 followers in one month....

 

I bought once an ebook that "helped" people to get over 5000 followers under 31 days. It did not work...

 

I have around 2K followers but I am not able to cross that limit of 2K.
Any reason behind that?

You can multiply your followers by:
1. Use tweetfeed app that automates ur blog posts
2. Place ur twitter link in facebook profile
3. Place ur twitter link in ur email signature
4. While writing articles/press-release place ur twitter link
5. Put some interesting images & video clips on twitter.

 

twitter had 2000 limit i think

 

twitter changed their logic and they implementing new set of enforcements

you need to weed out some that are not following you and add new ones once you get to 1800 followers you can pass the 2000 mark.
