A website by DP members

If you had a good idea which I liked, I would host it for free so I wouldn't worry about revenue to pay for hosting.

Personally, I would like it to be ad free (at least at first) and resourceful. If you promise revenue from the beggining, you will get all kinds of people that "sign up" only to put up copied text with some AdSense in an effort to cash in. This is the worst scenario as you will lose credibility quickly.

I think you need to decide the type of site before getting into specifics like revenue, etc

 

I think its a great Idea, How about making a fusion site of Wiki+Sourceforge+The Free Site

Some of us are good on coding, some are good on Writing and some have good experience in Directories so combined it will be a wonderful site.

As far as ownership is concern either it can be a person voted by members, who all trust or an entity rather than a person.

 

Ownership is really a problem...........

A voted person, if a few members dont like him, then they might finger him for any of the mistakes made.

Anyways voting is not a bad idea too...

register as a company and you all own a share of the company that would sort out ownership.

Not if you have a legal document written by a lawyer, signed by all, that confirms equal share - directorship by all owners.

 

Yea is there a virtual lawyer around lol, sorry but w are so far from each others all we have is trust ...

 

We can have an electronic document, digitally signed by all the members...Is it feasible??

 

I volunteer to host a wiki for free. I would like to incorporate AdSense. Each page would show 2 ads. The first would be that of the creator of the page, the other for the last changer.

If you guys are interested, I'll get a domain and try whipping something up.
