I have some old book which i can scan....(copyright vested on us) we want to get it in internet in swf form... i have some software that can convert pdf to swf.... so i need to convert pages to pdf.... so which is best software to do it.. scanning it as image and convering image as pdf....the file size is so big that internet may not be able to handle it.... what software are used.... to make things wrost it is written in non latin
What language is it written in? Non latin? There are many non latin languages, lol. If it is a language that Microsoft Word supports, I'd recommend scanning the pages into Word, then either downloading a program that'll convert .doc(x) files to .pdf, or a .pdf printing software such as NitroPDF or any other PDF Printer, and just printing to a PDF from that word document.
i have found the book is in hindi font....and i dont think we can get things back to hindi font...after scan...may be at max...may be we will have images...taking images to word and printing to pdf...file size is too big for internet viewing...
It sounds like you need software that can recognize your language? The best OCR software by far is ABBYY Finereader, which recognizes over 186 languages. However, it comes at a cost, being a $400 program. Alternatively, you could send your book to a book scanning service such as www.blueleaf-book-scanning.com. For a small fee (something like $.04/pg.), they will scan your book into text layered PDF format (and other formats) and send you the digitial copies (I believe they use ABBYY Finereader as well).
