It has been Universally proved that forum postings are one of the best way to promote your site. So why not to accept the truth.
Can you boldly say,"Yes, I am here only to promote my site"

    Lets see who dares?

Well, I'm not using a sig link and I've never directly mentioned a site I work on in any of my 3759 posts on here.
    So, obviously not.

I'm not here to promote my sites. However, I do join forums that are related to my site's content and participate in those forums to promote the site via the sig link.

Many of us are here for various reasons, there are alot you can achieve from great forums like this such as learning from the great minds, discussing and sharing ideas. Well, it all boils down to one thing. SALES.

Except there are different ways to approach it.

I'd be here anyway even if I couldn't post signature links. There is a lot of good information here, and I enjoy helping out when I can.

There is a few reason why I am here. First, I could learn a lot about link building, than I can exchange my links, I can find buyers and vendors for some services, and on the end, I can post my signature link. On some other forums, signature link is first, but here its not most important.

I think we are all trying to promote a site, learn, teach, buy, sell and have some fun all at the same time.

but since I've been reading a few of the posts, I have been learning a lot about marketing. I'm realizing that forums are good for more than just promoting my website, so no, I'm not here to just promote my website anymore.

Yes, partly. But my main goal really is to build backlinks for my site, which is geared towards boosting my ranking.

For me, promoting my websites/products is the last thing I want to do here.

    I am here to learn.

I have built more than 50 websites in past but only 2-3 of them became successful. I am here to learn why I have failed most of the time despite the huge amount of time and resources I put.

Of course I promote my site in forums. Every little extra edge helps.

But I like forums a lot because it's just fun to see how things are going and get a bit of news on the IM field. It was in Warrior Forum that I found out some of the big IM gurus are currently retiring from the IM niche.

I personally am here to promote my services, which are not quite site-based, but forums are indeed a great tool to utilize, regardless of your personal or business agendas!

Forums are communities. In communities people get to know each other, make friends, and interact. Forums are useful because people can use them to learn, teach, or entertain themselves. The great thing about forums is that they are documented social communication. Lets say someone in Nebraska knows alot about TVs and talks to his friend about it during lunch, nobody else in the wold can bennefit from that conversation. If that person talks about it on a TV forum then everyone can benefit.
