Brownish theme for my tech blog - does it look ok?

I've been trying to play around with the color theme on my technology blog. In the past, I've always switched back to a black-gray-white kind of theme. Although I loved it, it's kinda bland and dull in a way

So I played around with a few colors and came up with a brownish look... I think somehow it looks funny and great at the same time

What do you guys think?

The template and layout looks fine and it was fast in loading too.The contents are well organised and interesting and i like the header and logo personaly.

Do you guys think it looks better with this background? (Just ignore the ugliness of the brown border - it could easily be changed) or the current one is good enough?

 

Can't tell much from that thumbnail, it's pretty small and non-clickable.
