Hi, I have found a few sites where I can use their games freely on mine. These are flash and shockwave games. I find that when I download all of these games there are always a few of the games that don't seem to work properly right at the start. For example, on some of them the menus are missing, some don't completely work, etc. Is it just me doing something wrong when downloading them to my computer or is the actual sites not testing their games properly or something. How should I be downloading these games. I normally do "right click" and then "save target as" Once I do that I then extract the zip file and click on the game so that it loads and some of them don't work and some do. Is it me or is there something wrong with the games on the site? Thanks.
Could you show me an example of one that doesn't work? There are special instances like for example, you can't download the game StickArena from stickarena.com
Here is the site: http://www.games2web.com/page-your_site Here are two games from it that doesn't seem to work: http://www.games2web.com/free-games/ZombieSystem.zip http://www.games2web.com/free-games/TurretTimeTrial.zip I also find games on other sites don't work aswell. It is not just this site.
i don't know about the site but if you have a working game one the site then what you can do is get that swf file itself if the zip file is having some problem. Just look at the source code of the file and search for .swf . copy the url and either download with some manger or open in new page and now save this new page.
Yeah, Good point. I have done that with one or two games in the past and it had then slipped my mind. Thanks for reminding me about it. Although, would the games be the same as the ones they give out free for other sites to use could have bits cut out so it gives people a reason to actually visit the real site.
i really don't know why someone would say that you can download the game from here and then give a poor version of it in the file.
no i really didn't download myself. Maybe will give it a try later. But if they didn't work for you then it won't work for anyone.
I thought it could have just been something wrong with my internet connection or something. Anyway, I had produced a html webpage and places the working games download link in the page and then "saved target as". I then tested it and it is just the same as the game I downloaded of the proper download page. It is not working in the same way. This game is fully working on the site aswell and that is the game I downloaded. I have a feeling that there is something in the games code so that it can't be played on other websites or computers or something and they may have forget to pull it out. I just can't download it and thought that this way would work, but it hasn't.
