I just got my free copy since I bought this computer in time, and I won't even install it because it requires half of my computer's resources so I'm waiting til I buy another one..
Almost all those complaints are negligible and not much of an issue unless you are techilliterate. You want a perfect operating system? Wait and wait and wait and .................... You want a good operating system? Buy Windows 7. I never used Vista, because it had many issues. But Windows 7 is much better than Vista and on par with XP from what I've seen of it so far. Seems that Microsoft have learned their lesson. Indeed.
Couldn't agree more. Windows 7 Ultimate x64 is the best goddamn thing that happened to Windows after Bill Gates and the DOS incident
I didn't run into any issues installing Windows 7 Ultimate 64Bit. Seems like most the issues are from upgraders, which is a whole new ball-game for software developers at MS. It is very hard to upgrade such a large OS without there being any issues.
I had no issues upgrading - my IT dept did it! Having said that I was about to throw away the computer when it has Vista on it Windows 7 is much better but I was still pretty happy with XP.
Win7 is one of the most bestest and greatest (sorry for the purposely bad grammer) OS ever used. The majority must have been IT noobs.
i use windows 7 and it is the best windows ever Microsoft released especially after vista which considered by cnet as one of the worst 10 products ever made
I totally agree And with reference to recent updates causing "black screens" just use System Restore. Regards
I currently have Windows 7 Professional at work, and it's given me more issues than Vista has. Problems include: screen freezes, Live messenger freezes, and incompatibility with network printer. Even my IT guy with over 10 years experience couldn't get my computer to print. He downloaded the driver too.
wow dat's really bad to hear, vista was worse, it was a mistake but win 7 it's a perfect os till now, it's just amazing.
windows 7 is really cool. very stable and with few compatibility problems D i can adjust for the speed ness)
I've worked in software testing for many years and this is exactly what I would expect from Windows 7. Microsoft *KNOW* it is going to have many problems at the beginning. Windows 7 is the first release of software code that has been in development for many years. Having the user encounter problems at the beginning is how the software development process works, I'm afraid! The coders and testers will test it thoroughly but there has to be a cut off point in the testing process when they decide that a certain level of quality has been reached. That's when they a)ship it and then b) get ready to receive a mountain of bug reports from the users. They then fix the critical problems and send them out in service packs. The non-critical problems are added to a knowledge base as workarounds. Why do you think the software companies release betas? Its not to whet customers appetites! Its an essential part of the development process and provides them with essential user feedback.
Yes, this. Just read his many threads he's started in this section. I enjoy reading people intelligently speaking their mind on MS's MANY issues. Maybe MS will get a clue and do a batter job of fixing them so I can reconsider them in the many areas I've written them off... but this guy is just trolling with anti-MS propaganda daily on DP.
You would fail discrete math. Out of that 31k, how many were actually about "Windows 7 issues" and not about "billing of Windows 7"? Issues with Windows 7 = issues no matter what it is. Even upgrades would count towards this amount not to mention the company probably is a niche targeted to newbies with computers.
