SMS Marketing

These days I'm having lots of SMS marketers around me. I want to understand how there biz works. what are the terminologies etc.

Please share any info you can.

The strategy of this one is totally different. You have first choose for best service provider and then decide about the marketers.

 

I honestly say - I never never never buy anything from company which sends its promotional material via SMS to my phone. It drives me crazy, so think about negative effects of SMS marketing.

 

yes i also dont buy anything from company sms me SPAM promotion...

 

But this is not all bad when talking about SMS services. If you talk about SPAM then yeah it is annoying. But if you look at a different side of this monetizing method such as on-line gaming websites, unique content websites and much more businesses that use this payment method you will that people use it everywhere, and that it has its advantages.

 

Maybe I'm different from other persons, but I hate SMS payments too. I just prefer old fashioned credit cards, money orders, wire transfers, PayPal, etc.

 

What I think the sms marketing is not effective and may be it is waste of time since many people don't have experience with..

I suggest people to start with mobile advertising rather than sms marketing, because it is new, let other people do it and gather experience than we can jumps on to it..

But please explain in more details how does it works and what kind of message do you get as an advertising and where are you based on..

I doubt you can make a profit with SMS marketing. I would never buy anything from a SMS.......

I'm based in Central India, Actually I'm having some Local Firms, they are looking for SMS services to update the status of services via sms. may be a delivery of product etc.

SMS marketing is only useful for those who have opt in list for certain product.
Its a waste of $$ if you just blast your SMS to untargeted categories since they don't have any interest in your product.

 

Unfortunately, many people still don't understand this, and they keep wasting $ for useless SMS.

 

I agree with Mentos - it has to be specific product with targeted audience. I can say that in on-line gaming businesses and downloading services SMS marketing is quite useful and profitable.

 

Its really a lot to know about SMS marketing, as since with so many mobile connections and the involvement of 3G technologies, many of us might find as the best one, but Mobile advertising is a unique thing when you consider it.

Yep I would say the same - it has a lot of potential but you must use it wisely otherwise the effect will be the opposite.
