You need to build some back links. This is the fastest way to get indexed by Google. Make sure your site has a sitemap as well. You will find that social bookmarking, forum posting, blog commenting and article writing can be some good ways of building back links.

Rubbish !! you don't need 10 articles, 1 or 2 are fine, if using WP make sure your remove the "welcome to wordpress" post as Google have stated if this is found while crawling your site will not be accessed for several days... I usually submit my brand new site to digg.com and it usually gets indexed in couple of hours by google
