Hi, haiwin I think indexing is totally different from SERP. You should keep working hard on building backlinks using your target keywords for your site and keep your site contents refreshing.

I always baulk at the idea of link spamming other peoples' blogs (or should I not care ... ?). Is there a best way to go about it (other than try to make comments constructive)?
Using the comments space for links are considered spam unless it does needed to be put in there. You can still put your link on the Name/URL space provided. And be sure your comment is of good quality and related to the blog posts.
