so why not play on a public server?

Perhaps you can name a few mmorpgs that have more quests?

how about instance quests, pvp quests, timed quests (deamon seed - run to top of the mountain and destroy the seed before time runs out). What other kinds of quests could there be?

Level 60 Human Paladin here. :)

I play about 1-2 hours/day now, used to be a lot more. For some reason I find being level 60 a whole lot more boring than 1-59. I suppose it's because every time you kill something you don't get the XP reward, other than a couple of rep points with whatever faction you're grinding. Oh and, loot doesn't count :p

If there are any DP'ers on Burning Blade shoot me a PM!

    Because we play MMORPGs?

Name some other types of quests that other mmorpgs have, I can't think of any.

That's some emulator you have there, care to share the name of it? Most emulated servers can get 200 people online max, they're full of bugs and they lag really bad.

i know the real world. and i play computer games all the time. i play cod2 generally for at least 2 hours each day. However i do work 40 hours a week at a government job and have plenty of other hobbies that include the outdoors and other sports/activities that have nothing to do with computing.

i got a job - 9-5. once I get home i go out and play soccer/hockey till 9. After that, I maybe play wow/wc3 for like an hour. I'd rate that as pretty real world.

wow being over priced is true, however just because you play an overpriced game doesn't mean your not part of the real world. That comment you said was possibley the dumbest thing that i have read on the boards.

    1) have a look over at some place like MMORPG.com and discover the wealth of MMORPG's available and youll quickly learn all the different forms of questing available, WoW is running basic quest system and cartoonsih graphics system, thisi s something they admit to and dont try to hide.

WoW is a dumbed down MMORPG, thats why many players are not big MMORPG fans, or it is their first/only MMORPG etc. It appeals to those who dont know better, which is great IMO, but isn't the 'Miracle' game a lot of it's players seem to think it is, anyway I would highly recommend MMORPG.com, wait 'til you see what your missing :)

    2) Yes it is a good emulator, no it is not buggy and the highest online count per sevrer is recorded at 42,000 but that was using a server farm, so it is showing the software (emulators) limits as aposed to hardware limits.

Many emulators have low player counts due to hardware, as most are run by hobbiests or teens who cannot afford the hardware required to maintain heavy loads.

The emulatoir im using is an underground one, if you have any kind of access to the underground emulation community look out for 'Blitz' and you'll find it easily enough.

Many reasons realy, but here are a few :
    • I control and run the server
    • We control who we want to play with us and who we dont, it is more of a 'community' feeling
    • Mods Mods Mods.. Have an idea for a new spell, new race/class skills monsters etc? Just add them!
    • Full control over the systems and content of the game, dont like something? Change it
    • Free, what more can I say

i dont play the game, so i dont waste my money on that pile of crap. I agree i think the game is horrible, but that is our opinion. Others think it is great. Im sure you do things that other people think is a waste but you find very enjoyable and fullfilling. it all just boils down to personal preference/opinion.
