Hi, I usually use my Google Webmaster Central account or Yahoo Site Explorer to check what one way links I have pointing to my site. However, Google Webmasters tool doesn't seem to show quite a few of the DoFollow links that I know for sure that I have linking to my home page. Question 1. Is this normal? 2. What is the best tool for checking the links pointing to my site? 3. Can I check what the anchor text is in the links that point to my site? Thanks
Use the 'linkdomain' command on yahoo, eg: linkdomain:yoursite.com -site:yoursite.com This finds all the backlinks to yoursite.com and removes any links from yoursite.com from the list (it removes internal links).
This is the one I use Link Checker However, my links have dropped off significantly in the last couple of days, so I am not sure if it a problem with the site or my site.
Excellent tip. I love the level of detail and information that this provides and is exactly what I was looking for. Thanks
1. Yes, Google consider not all dofollow backlinsk you have and Google Webmaster doesn`t show all backlinks Google consider 2. I use Yazzle 3. Of course, Yazzle and backlinkeatch both show them
Google webmaster works but they don't always show all of them, and it can be a little slow in updating.
You can use yahoo site explorer, backlinkwatch, backlinkhunter and wholinkstome.com sites to see and check on your backlinks.
I am not really good about this but someone referred me to backlinkwatch and it is really good to use at. Actually I know their are other ways like XEnu but I still prefer using backlinkwatch
