Hey all, Iv'e only just joined amazon affiliation just wondering if anyone had any tips on marketing the products; currently just getting familiar with the account so much in there
I find I as I get familiar with something new, the path shows up right in front of me! Like walking on a windy road. You cannot see too far ahead ... but as you walk, the pathshows! Keep learning ... there is no shortcut for that!
Just keep on learning through experimenting, testing and reading some informative posts here at DP. You can also search google for tips as there are people who experimented with Amazon who are willing to share their experience.
its always a good idea to look at the amazon best sellers and go after them. You can find a link to the best sellers from the home page
OK, I am NOT an Amazon marketing genius, I don't even listen to my own advice but most would agree that the best approach is to write authoritative articles or a blog on a particular subject, and recommend related products, usually through modest text links. Less is more. Don't be tempted to fill your pages with banners, widgets and the rest, they WON'T convert if you don't have any visitors to that page, which you won't if they are full of ads! If you write articles about how to keep your baby safe in the house/car whatever, and then refer readers to baby safety products you will a) attract readers through the search engines who actually NEED that information, b) have TARGETED readers who may very well follow up on your recommendations. That's the whole secret really, and don't believe any e-book or self-proclaimed "guru" who tells you otherwise. Actually, my own "secret" is a slightly different approach - I work on improving my web programming skills and writing various unique websites that list Amazon products, and doing price comparisons, mashups, that sort of thing, but that's a LOT more work and out of your reach if you're not a programmer... And I doubt the earnings are any better... Read this and everything else Darren Rowse has written about earning from AA - he's a genuine guy who's done it the hard way and knows what he's talking about.
Just make sure you follow their TOS to the T. I got booted from their program for something pretty simple, and they still owe me a few hundred dollars (oh and they take weeks to respond to contact requests). btw, I got booted over a year ago and still haven't seen what they owe me.
Just read the Terms of Service and stick to them, you'll be fine. In particular pay attention to not misusing the Amazon brand (like registering domains with "Amazon" in the name) and not doing pay-per-click advertising that links directly to Amazon, which you probably weren't planning to do anyway.
Thanks buddy..i have also been working on all these things..Its a sure-shot to success ! It just needs some time to establish good traffic and thereby good sales.
Don't think, that ist a good ides (in my eyes) to go only for the bestsellers, because competition is tough there. Build an authority site in a special niche and you will be fine
additional question - which type of affiliates in amazon will most probably earn you the most income?
i'm a newbie too, and i creat a blog to write somethinkg about the products. And i think you should know how to promotion your site.
Sorry, they won't send you a penny once you've been kicked out That's the worst part. A friend of mine went through the same problem simply because she had 'amazon' as part of her URL. I say to people: read the TOC. Hard isn't it?
Okay thanks for the input guys, Thought I would update my post. Upon starting the long process of filling my blog pages with links and writing on hubpages and stuff. This week I made 28.89 dollars beleive it or not amazon made neally 800 dollars off it haha. 3 Ipods, loads of DVD's all the way down to hampster balls lol. But yeah its going alright anyhow, I will keep pushing it. Thanks again for the advice.
Well done, it's more than a lot of people sell! Yeah, it's amazing the other stuff people buy - I seem to end up selling almost anything BUT what I was promoting. My Christmas run-up sales seem to be largely composed of John Deere tractor-related merchandise for some reason!
